Job Responsibilities
Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions

Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen

Overview

Sunshine Grill is a locally owned neighborhood caf focused on fresh, comforting food and community. Were looking for a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support our daily operations, including food prep, kitchen cleanliness, and occasional delivery of hot lunches to local childcare centers.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on, versatile role ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a small team, and taking pride in keeping a kitchen running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with basic food prep (chopping, assembling, portioning)
Dishwashing and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen
Follow food safety and sanitation standards
Assist with packing and staging catering and school lunch orders
Deliver hot lunches to childcare schools in Central Jersey (as needed)
Support the kitchen team with daily tasks as assigned
Requirements
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Foodservice or kitchen experience a plus (but not required)
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule
Weekday mornings and early afternoons and possible weekends
Some flexibility required based on catering and school delivery needs
