Description: The job of FoodServiceWorker is responsible for the cleanliness of the cafeteria and kitchen areas. Clean and sanitize food preparation work surfaces and food serving areas daily
Clean food storage areas, refrigerator/freezers, and exhaust hood and filters vents as directed
If applicable, set up and maintain a serving area(s) in the cafeteria for dispensing napkins, utensils, condiments, etc. for student/adult use
Assist with monthly and yearly food inventories as needed
Assist with receiving and stocking food, paper products, and other supplies and materials
Assist with special events and education activities as requested
Participate in district sponsored professional development workshops/inservices, attend on-going training classes as directed, and read professional publications for continued professional development
Maintain strict confidentiality and use appropriate discretion when working with all district personnel records and/or information
Support and follow the rules, regulations and policies set by the School Board, the assigned school and the District
Performs all other duties as assigned by the Governing School Board or the FoodServices Manager
Length of Employment:
Nine (9) months
School calendar will determine the days worked during the school year

Kitchen Assistant/Cook

Immediate Supervisor: Kitchen Lead
Position Overview:
Kitchen Assistants perform all cleaning, washing and preparation duties required in a kitchen setting. The Kitchen Assistant
will assist Cooks and Kitchen Leads with all tasks necessary to ensure that kitchen operations run smoothly. The Kitchen
Assistant's responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Cook with ingredient preparation, assisting with
removing the garbage, washing garbage cans, clearing refrigerators, freezers and storage rooms. The Kitchen Assistant
will exercise exceptional time management to ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner and be able to comply
with all food health and safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
A. Cleaning and Sanitation
Properly cleans and sanitizes all food preparation areas according to established standards of hygiene.
Washes and appropriately stores all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes.
Sweeps and mops the kitchen floors as well as wiping down kitchen walls.
Assists with cafeteria set-up or clean-up.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly deep cleaning of the facility, service areas and all kitchen equipment such as counters, tables, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, mixers, transient hot carts, mobile carts and rolling racks.
B. Food Preparation
Assists the Cook with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry and meat.
Promptly transfers meal ingredients from storage areas to the kitchen as per the Cook's instructions.
Assists with the unloading of delivered food supplies.
Prepares breakfast bags and delivers to classrooms daily.
Retrieves breakfast bags from classrooms daily and cleans and repacks for next breakfast.
C. Safety
Operates equipment properly to assure safety and to avoid damage to the equipment.
Maintains clean and safe work environment as well as performs job safely.
Utilizes kitchenware safely such as, but not limited to, knives, spatulas, whisks, tongs, spoons and ladles.
D. Additional Responsibilities
Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined in the Riverside Employee Handbook.
Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
Establishes effective working relationships with other members of the school staff.
Promotes the overall effectiveness by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities with members of the department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
Attends trainings for continued professional development.
Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the Child Nutrition Services Manager.

General knowledge of how to operate and clean kitchen equipment.
Ability to properly clean kitchen area, equipment and utensils.

Working Environment
The working environment is in the cafeteria kitchen and dining room that includes exposure to noise and vibrations from kitchen equipment, fumes and odors from grease traps and heat from stoves and ovens.
The nature of the environment requires the employee frequently to work with/near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to airborne particles and cleaning chemicals.

Ability to organize efficiently and effectively, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Effective oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability of coordinating activities and others; ability to relate to a variety of people in a responsible and cooperative manner
Ability to efficiently coordinate PRM resources, working effectively with management, staff and volunteers

About the Position - FoodService Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef/Sous Chef, this position is responsible for the presentation of hot foods, pantry, and bakery items. This position is responsible to maintain high levels of product quality, cleanliness, productivity, and efficient use of New Freedom resources. Additionally, this position is responsible for preparing healthy salad bar options along with packed lunches for members on the go. This position is responsible for daily food rotation, labeling, as well as the cleanliness of the entire kitchen.
Your Impact Will Include:
Prepare and maintain Salad Bar offerings and other food items according to guidelines and standards set by the Executive Chef.
Set up and break down foodservice areas for all mealtimes, ensuring consistency with established schedules and quality expectations.
Maintain strict cleaning and sanitation practices throughout the dining hall and kitchen in alignment with New Freedom standards.
Follow all County, State, and Federal health and safety regulations while upholding proper food handling procedures and equipment care.
Assist with food preparation for daily service and catered events, adjusting production levels based on fluctuating client flow and operational demands.
Organize, clean, and maintain kitchen workspaces, equipment, tools, and storage areas; label and store food according to established guidelines.

About the Position - FoodService Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Executive Chef/Sous Chef, this position is responsible for the presentation of hot foods, pantry, and bakery items. This position is responsible to maintain high levels of product quality, cleanliness, productivity, and efficient use of New Freedom resources. Additionally, this position is responsible for preparing healthy salad bar options along with packed lunches for members on the go. This position is responsible for daily food rotation, labeling, as well as the cleanliness of the entire kitchen.
Your Impact Will Include:
Prepare and maintain Salad Bar offerings and other food items according to guidelines and standards set by the Executive Chef.
Set up and break down foodservice areas for all mealtimes, ensuring consistency with established schedules and quality expectations.
Maintain strict cleaning and sanitation practices throughout the dining hall and kitchen in alignment with New Freedom standards.
Follow all County, State, and Federal health and safety regulations while upholding proper food handling procedures and equipment care.
Assist with food preparation for daily service and catered events, adjusting production levels based on fluctuating client flow and operational demands.
Organize, clean, and maintain kitchen workspaces, equipment, tools, and storage areas; label and store food according to established guidelines.
Handle chemicals safely and appropriately in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and organizational protocols.
Collaborate professionally and courteously with leadership, staff, and members to support smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
Performing additional duties as assigned to support our mission.

In-Shoppers are responsible for greeting customers when they enter and exit the restaurant while providing world-class customer service and executing fast and accurate sandwiches along with maintaining sanitation standards. Your main duties will include making sandwiches, restocking, greeting customers, and keeping the restaurant clean.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Execute genuine greetings and farewells, take orders, operate the cash register, collect payments from customers, and other cash handling duties.
* Make fast, accurate, and consistent sandwiches.
* Comply with all portion sizes, recipes, systems, and procedures.
* Must be able to pass sandwich tests at the end of the first two weeks of employment and at future testing times.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant including all tables, floors, windows, beverage station, and restrooms.
* Take telephone orders and complete delivery tickets.
* Fill out systems and procedures with 100% accuracy and integrity.
* Always maintain a professional appearance in compliance with the dress code.
* Display a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments.
* Perform other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Environment:
* Ability to use basic math, addition, subtraction, and understand basic fractions.
* Required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, listen, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
* Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to move around the front of the bakery as you bend down for bags and reach up for cupcake trays.
