Job Summary:
Blue Oval Battery Park Michigan is seeking highly motivated and detailed oriented Production Operator Quality personnel to join our cutting-edge battery cell manufacturing facility in Marshall, MI. This critical role is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products meets established quality standards and specifications, maintaining the integrity of our products throughout the production process. This Operator will perform comprehensive inspections and tests, document results, Identify and address defects, and contribute to the continuous improvement of quality control procedures, including visuals inspections at key points, final product quality, outgoing shipments, and in line quality gates.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance and Inspection: Implement and promote a strong quality culture within the Plant. Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, in process components, and finished battery cells and components throughout the manufacturing process. Monitor and force quality gates, conduct final quality product inspections, and verify outgoing quality by auditing finished goods before shipment.
- Testing & Analysis: Conduct various tests according to established procedures to verify product performance and compliance with specifications. This includes chemical residue testing, tensile strength testing, contamination testing, metallographic analysis and other specialized tests. Operate and maintain a range of testing equipment such as CT scans, X-ray imaging, CMM's, tensile testing machines, and thermalgravimetric analysis (TGA) equipment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record inspection and test data, documenting any deviations from specifications or defects. Maintain detailed logs and reports of all quality control activities, including non-conformances and process deviations. Communicate findings clearly to supervisors, engineers, and production personnel.
- Root Cause Analysis & Improvement: Assist in the investigation of root causes of defects and implement effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Proactively identify opportunities for improving quality control processes and procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality audits.
- Standards & Compliance: Adhere to established quality control procedures and standards, including ISO 9001, IATF16949, And other relevant industry specific quality management systems. Support and conduct internal and external audits across multiple functions and groups.
- Technical Interpretation & Equipment Calibration: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions to ensure proper product dimensions and tolerances. Ensure that all measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Collaboration & Safety: Work closely with production and engineering teams to address and resolve quality issues. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety procedures.
- Training & Development: Support the department's training management, promoting the implementation of the plan's quality training plan. Provide technical training and testing for new employees with the QA and PRD departments.
Minimum requirements:
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in quality control role within a manufacturing, g environment is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in using various measuring tools and operating testing equipment (e.g. Calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM, CT, X-Ray, tensile testers, TGA).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, work instructions.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting tools such as Six Sigma, statistical process control, and 5-Why.
- Familiarity with ISO9001, IATF16949 standards, or other relevant quality management systems.
- Scope for use of office software for data processing and report output.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and irregularities accurately.
- Willingness to work in a clean room or controlled environment as required.
- Experience with metallography, CT, TGA, and chemical analysis is preferred.

This position requires an employee to be onsite on a full-time basis and this candidate will rotate between first, second, and potentially third shift work.
The Role:
The GMIT Manufacturing LAN/Operations Specialist team member has on-site responsibility for performing activities pertaining to information technology and business unit objectives in a GM Manufacturing facility. More specifically, this role will perform tasks requiring on-site support for basic and intermediate level requests for applications, IT devices, maintain and configure network devices and infrastructure support. There is also some on call work for network issues on off shifts. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. End user support involves an evolving set of tools to remotely analyze and resolve issues. In many cases each day, however, this support also involves visits to the end device on the manufacturing floor. Employees should expect to spend a portion of the day on their feet, performing physical tasks that include lifting and climbing up stairs and vertical ladders to screen guarded environments.
What You'll Do:
Providing end-user, network, infrastructure, and application support through creative thinking and latitude is the key to success in this role. Support for end users involves a growing set of tools and software that allows remote analysis and resolution of problems. It is also common for support agents to visit manufacturing floors for inspections and troubleshooting, as well as to interact with different production team members and executives. Employees will be on their feet throughout the day, lifting up to 40 lbs, climbing, and maneuvering stairs and ladders to reach screen-guarded areas.
Provide production shift support by operating as a focal point to address all IT related requests and coordinate resolution of IT related incidents. The shift you work (1st, 2nd, 3rd) depends on the plant/location where you work and can vary.
Build and support End-User Devices (PCs, Printers, Scanners, Mobile Phones, VOIP phones, Motorola Radios, and Tablets)
Use remote PC management tools to assist users and other corporate IT tools to perform software patching/installation, asset management and change management functions
Support all GM managed LAN, WAN, and WLAN network infrastructure, including GM managed Supplier networks, distributed antenna system (DAS) for mobile phones, and plant radio systems.
Support the incident management process to coordinate issue resolution
Support the label printing process at locations where IT has responsibility
Complete assigned IT project tasks. Projects are highly centralized/owned by other IT teams, however we play an integral role in site-level implementation and execution
Work with our Business Partners to ensure their IT needs are met. Interact with all levels of the workforce from hourly union production workers up to plant executive leadership
What You'll Need:
Possess 3-10 years of IT experience supporting end-user devices (PC, printers, scanners, mobile phones, tablets, etc.)

What You'll Do...
1. Equipment Maintenance & Reliability Management:
· Lead and manage the preventive and corrective maintenance plan for all Powered Material Handling Vehicles (PMHV) and material handling equipment to ensure optimal operational availability.
