You will provide vital expertise in support of our manufacturing process engineering activities. We're looking to you to help us optimize our efforts in safety, quality and productivity. **What you'll do...**
+ Drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Track labor, efficient manpower utilization and line balancing
+ Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations
+ Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis
+ Recommend most efficient distribution of manpower and review daily employee manpower, analyze plant methods and standards
+ Prepare or direct the preparation of cost estimates of new or revised methods and standards
+ Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, routing, etc.
+ Analyze production and non-production operations to determine those requiring study and develop new or improved methods and standards
+ Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions
+ Develop cycle line layouts for current and future models using ACAD. Lead job methodization and process allocations
+ Coordinate engineering changes and planning. Conduct value stream mapping and process audits
+ Develop cost saving project proposals and write projects as required
+ Interface with Production Supervision and the UAW to settle job disputes
+ Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes

+ 3+ Years of related work experience in Industrial Engineering
+ Experience line balancing, cycle time, workstation setup.

Service Market Logistics (SML) is an organization within Volvo Group Truck Operations (GTO). Our responsibilities are to design, manage, and optimize the supply chain of aftermarket parts for all Volvo Group brands. Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
Conduct all activities related to safe storage, handling, processing and disposition of raw materials and the preparation, operation, storage, handling, processing and disposition of equipment in the manufacturing areas. This includes, LPA/BBS audits, PPRA's, Risk Assessments and Spills.
Work with R&D and PD groups during product/process development. Support all process development activities including material development scaleup, plant trials, equipment trials and the implementation/documentation of processing parameters and recipes from raw material to final part. Follow the PDP and ODP processes.
Responsible for the preparation of Process Flow Segment Maps, PFMEAs for all new launched parts in compounding/conversion areas. Utilize part prints, DFMEAs, material specifications, FMA's, MCA's, Formula Recipes and equipment controls/limits as reference for their creation. Work with the quality department to see that these are carried over into the control plans and floor paperwork.
Lead all activities related to process launches including investigations, feasibility, proposals, trials/runoffs of processing equipment. Project Manage the recommended processing equipment including design reviews, equipment signoffs, run at rates and capability studies to produce any existing or new material/products at quoted/standard rates and efficiencies. Follow the CLP process for all capital expenditures.
Interface with production, quality, support technicians and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot and eliminate material quality and process failure issues (including Gemba, Kaizen, RedX, Is/IsNot, DOE's, and other studies so causes & effects can be identified). Establish parameters/limits based on the statistical capabilities (6 sigma principles) and the OSI data of the process to produce consistent quality materials and products. Job Summary:
* The Process Engineer position provides professional guidance, leadership, and training to other personnel; is responsible for, but not limited to, planning and coordinating new manufacturing projects; improving manufacturing processes, layouts, and tooling.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
* University education in engineering and/or technical field preferred
* Engineering in a manufacturing field
* Three (3) to five (5) years of OEM manufacturing and support experience (automotive industry preferred).

* Work with management to report and monitor process compliance
* Collaborate and communicate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, and businesses.
* Highly proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).

* Excellent time management and work organizational (prioritization) skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to resolve new and unique problems.
* Ability to grasp modern technology quickly
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for creating, maintaining and implementing product Process Flows and Process FMEA's in coordination with quality documents (Control Plans) by following QA-WI-051 " Documentation Requirements"
* Participate in APQP and compliance with the program Gate Review processes.
* Tooling/Equipment Sourcing and Acceptance Criteria
* Tooling/Equipment Run-Off Approval
* Mistake proofing Identification and Tracking
* Mistake proofing validation
* Set-Up Instructions
* Monitors project development, approval, and implementation schedules and timelines/Ghantt Charts
* Attends builds at customer assembly plant
* Familiarity with Ford/GM/Chrysler change processes
* AutoCAD
* Supports timely completion of all Internal and External customer complaints

What you'll do...
Provide engineering support for material flow process; document standards and procedures, provide training, overall adherence and maintenance to ensure materials are available in designated stock, markets and line locations throughout the facility
Work with Planning & Inventory Control, Production, Material Handlers, and Supply Chain to ensure robust policies are available and practiced and strive for continuous improvement
Apply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and limited job experience, in the development of material flow processes
Design and/or develops material flow processes and equipment
Recommend changes to increase safety, reduce costs, improve quality and optimize efficiency
Participate in plant layout activities
Develop floor space analyses to confirm storage requirements and recommend practical solutions where required
Assist in qualifying manual and powered material handling equipment requirements
Work to improve material flow and manage materials and inventory consistent with Lean principles
Lay out market, sequencing, and kitting areas to facilitate material handling, process flow, space utilization, and labor
Define and manages in-plant storage and call systems to maintain inventories; assists to define appropriate goals and metrics for proper material control
Provide vehicle and pedestrian flow/congestion/safety analyses and recommend practical solutions where required
Interact on a regular basis with other functional groups and vendors on technical and/or administrative matters
Work with Production, Production Control, Supply Chain, Quality and other engineering departments
Prepare detailed plans, generally spanning several months, vital to complete assigned projects
Develop and approves schedule milestones
Develop and coordinate labor, facility and equipment requirements for assigned projects
Propose alternate plans for economic evaluation
Administer technical procedures including process and work procedures
Implement an industrial engineering system (standard cost data, capacity and equipment requirement forecasting, shop floor control system)
