Provides clerical, telephone, scheduling, and computer support for the Assistant Dean and other OSI areas as determined by the supervisor, including front office reception and coverage in other reception areas as needed. Maintains the front reception area for the Office for Student Involvement, answering calls, directing inquiries, greeting students and guests, and managing traffic flow. Manages the office's general email account and provides administrative support for all corporate accounts within OSI . Drafts and prepares documents, develops spreadsheets and reports, distributes meeting agendas and minutes, and supports special projects as determined by the Assistant Dean. Assists with updating departmental websites and preparing team meeting agendas. Reviews and approves flyers for posting around campus. Assists with managing locker rentals and distribution in the McShane Center. Oversees inventory and ordering office supplies, stationery, balloons, and helium tanks. Supports the Student Clubs administrative team to ensure clubs have access to copying in OSI and assists with the review and approval of club fliers. Maintains updated office forms, notices, and contact information on Ramsinvolved. Assists with the sales of discount movie tickets and Metro Cards, tracks staff vacation schedules, handles vending machine reimbursements, and oversees key distribution for OSI spaces. Preferred Qualifications College degree preferred. Oversight experience of student workers or equivalent preferred. About the Flourishing in Community Grantmaker The Flourishing in Community ( FIC ) Grantmaker Initiative, serving as the EPA Region 2 Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Grantmaker program, proposes an intersectional approach to place frontline communities in positions of power to advance environmental justice and climate justice in disadvantaged and hard-to-reach communities and communities disproportionately impacted by climate change, pollution, and other environmental stressors in New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The program leadership team will employ Fordham University's infrastructure to provide grants to community-based organizations and other qualifying organizations, institutions, and agencies, prioritizing rural, remote, coastal, and urban communities, low-income communities, communities of color, and other communities and groups which historically have not had the capacity to apply for or receive federal funding for projects in this area. The FIC employs a participatory community-led governance structure and provides wraparound services including mentorship, research assistance, technical assistance, program management, and program evaluation to subgrant recipients and advances project sustainability post-award.     Reporting to the University Registrar, the Senior Assistant Director, NCAA and Veteran Certification ensures Fordham University's compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association ( NCAA ) and Veterans Administration (VA) eligibility requirements for veteran students and student-athletes. This role analyzes academic records, including transcripts and degree audits, to verify eligibility for NCAA participation and VA benefits. This position collaborates closely with the Athletics Department and the Office of Military and Veterans Services to maintain accurate records and facilitate a compliant environment. This position may require evening and weekend work. Essential Functions Certifies NCAA eligibility by evaluating academic records of new, continuing, transfer, and international student-athletes against NCAA , conference (e.g., Atlantic 10), and University policies each semester. Assesses transfer credits and course substitutions to ensure student athlete compliance with NCAA transfer rules. Prepares required NCAA reports. Oversees certification of satisfactory academic progress and degree progression for all student athletes. Collaborates with the Athletic Department to develop and refine certification guidelines, tools, processes, and procedures. Designs and implements new procedures and training based on audit findings to resolve coding/documentation issues and enhance compliance. Processes VA certifications at the start of each semester by analyzing student transcripts to determine eligibility for tuition, housing, and other VA benefits. Monitors academic progress towards degrees for veteran/veteran beneficiary students and student-athletes, and reports any status changes to the NCAA and/or VA. Conducts periodic audits of student records by meeting with external and internal auditors and reviewing documentation to ensure ongoing compliance with NCAA and VA regulations.
