Tasks included inventory control, tool management, and hazardous material control and management. This includes * Trenching for ground grid & conduits * Backfilling and compacting * Foundation drilling, digging and installation * Lifting placing and setting structural steel * Lifting placing and installing insulators and busswork * Lifting, placing & installing substation equipment such as breakers, metering, transformers, arrestors etc. * Moving and pulling control cable to medium voltage cable * Placing finish stone and smoothing out the yard Job Specific Duties * Being able to read and understand control cable schedules from the client. * Ability to ensure that conduit sizes are correct for control cable pulls and installation techniques. * Have the knowledge or ability to read P&C prints for proper termination of multiple conductor control cables up to 12/C #12 all the way down to 1/C 4/0 cables. * Have the knowledge or ability to learn medium voltage terminations up to 34.5kv terminations. * Irby does offer medium voltage termination training and certification. * Knowledge base to understand DC systems as well as AC systems. * Supplying insight on project construction as far a control cable pulling, installation and termination. * Ability & skill set to work in energized panels * Knowledge of electrical, below grade or concrete foundation trade a plus. * High Voltage Substation construction knowledge or experience a plus. * Accountable for quality of work to ensure that it is being performed according to specifications. What You'll Bring * Adheres to all Company Safety and Health Policies * Must have a valid driver's license. * Must be willing to stay out of town. Typical work weeks are 4-10 hour shifts or 5-10 hour shifts. Available to travel as the project requires. * Willing to work over-time and be able to work extended periods of time. * May work in storm restoration operations to rebuild and/or repair damaged power systems. * May attend training classes or seminars to gather knowledge of new processes, safety regulations and/or refresher training. * Walking and working across uneven terrain. * Climbing on and off large trucks and equipment. * Must be able to work outside 100% of the time. We work in inclement weather that includes heat, cold, rain and possible snow. * Able to lift in excess 50 pounds on a daily basis. * Willing to work off the ground in man baskets. Normal working heights are 20'-60' with the possibility of working at 120' heights. * Must be able to work around energized systems. * Must be able and willing to assist with other activities while not actively performing Journeymen electrician duties.
