The Construction Foreman takes a hands-on leadership role on the job site ensuring prompt, efficient progress of the work. The Foreman determines priorities for work to be done, sometimes on their own initiative and authority, but more often based on needs communicated by management. (Pay range is between $23.50 - $44/hr based on experience) Job Duties: Heavy equipment operation - Track hoe, backhoe, (ability to install sheet piling a plus), rental equipment and materials scheduling and call off. Direct and run the project which includes piping and the installation of the tanks and related project materials. Communicate to the Installation Manager any specific requirements for completing the project in a safe, timely, and profitable manner. Communicate with the customer or their onsite representative the requirements or issues that may arise on the job site. Ability to read and understand applicable plans and specification, environmental regulations, fire and building codes that must be enforced on the site. Attend the following meetings (as applicable): Pre-Construction Meetings Safety Meetings Selected training sessions as directed by the Installation Manager Keep accurate daily records on each job. This should include, as a minimum, a record of all tests, inspections, the daily progress on the job, visitors to the job and situations that may affect the schedule in a negative way. Set an example for your crew members by reporting to work on time and in proper uniform. Supervise the daily activities of the crew. Plan for tomorrow. Take opportunities to train the crew so that each member is able to take on increasing responsibilities. Enforce all mandatory safety rules: Be aware of potential hazards and correct any of these situations. Require the use of the proper personal protective equipment by all crew members and subcontractors. Hold weekly job-site safety meetings. Ensure a positive Company image including the following: The personal appearance of each crew member should be clean and in compliance with Company Policy. Each vehicle must be clean and orderly. The job site should be kept orderly and free of safety hazards. Treat the site as if it is your own property. The job site sign should be kept clean and in good repair. The conduct of each crew member should be professional and courteous. Maintain all vehicles in compliance with departmental preventive maintenance policies. Do not allow unsafe conditions to exist on the vehicles. Vehicles should be washed and cleaned weekly. Operate all vehicles in a safe manner. Work will include after-hours Able to work in all weather conditions - significant portion of the work is done outdoors Willing to travel, up to 50-60% of the time Requirements Highschool Diploma or GED required 5+ Years of experience in piping and products experience REQUIRED. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to safely operate a construction truck and tow small trailers when needed. Must be able to meet company's employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day. Ability to efficiently operate various types of heavy equipment, including compactors, skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and larger excavators. Expertise in excavating, backfilling, and compacting trenches in and around existing utilities. Competency in efficiently installing underground improvements, including domestic water, force main and lift station sewer, gravity storm, gravity sewer, and underground retention systems. Knowledge of all piping types, including RCP, CMP, DIP, PVC, HDPE, HP, etc. Competency of culverts and large underground conveyance. Ability to communicate respectfully with customers and employees both verbally and in writing. Fully understands the requirements of 811 Utility Locates. Coordinates with codes and utility inspectors to ensure compliance with installation. Ensures the safety of the project by adhering to all OSHA safety standards. Be sure the crew is following all OSHA regulations, wearing hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, safety shirts, and proper footwear. Communicates effectively with other trades or subcontractors regarding scheduling and coordinating work to meet deadlines. Effectively identifies and resolves potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties. Works with PM and discusses a 2-5 day “look ahead” schedule. Obtains dump folder for each job. Review and approve each employee's times and work hours. Report any violations of the employee handbook to the HR director immediately. Report tardy or absent employees to the HR director immediately. Handle personnel and other complaints from your crew. If you cannot handle or solve the issue, advise your PM and the HR director. Make sure your job is cleaned up daily. All debris is cleaned up, tools placed back in the truck, areas roped off or secured, signage in place, and equipment parked in a neat row and secured. Equipment is greased daily and maintains proper levels of fuel, hydraulic fluid, and engine oil. Coordinate equipment moves with PM. Communicate rain days with the PM and all field employees. In the event of rain, advise the crew on the start time, visit the job, and discuss with PM on starting or stopping a project. Nights and weekends may be required based on project demands. Attend Superintendent meetings. Enforce company policies concerning the Drug-Free Workplace and follow company policies in the event of an accident. MUST be willing to be flexible as jobs may change. Position Summary: The Electrical Foreman oversees and coordinates job site operations, including field crews, apprentices, and laborers. They manage work schedules, materials, and equipment to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to company standards, plans, and codes. Position Responsibilities: Oversee and lead field teams, ensuring high-quality work aligned with company standards. Coordinate project schedules, ensuring work sequences are maintained to meet deadlines. Organize and manage project materials, equipment, and resources effectively. Schedule/oversee job site inspections to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures. Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to ensure smooth transitions and integration of work. Participate in weekly job site meetings, providing status updates and addressing concerns. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in systems, components, and equipment using testing devices and hand tools. Perform system tests to ensure proper installation and operational effectiveness. Read and interpret contract drawings, plans, and specifications to determine material requirements and installation procedures. Mentor team members, fostering growth in technical skills and adherence to all policies. Maintain knowledge of the national code and state-specific codes/amendments and understand how they are applied in projects in the surrounding areas. Ensure workers understand and apply the latest codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant regulations. Identify and create RFIs (Request for Information) to clarify design or project specifications. Ensure proper communication via email for project-related correspondence, including RFIs, change orders, and status updates. Review project estimates for material and labor costs in collaboration with the Project Manager to stay within budget. Maintain effective communication with leadership and workers to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues quickly. Coordinate with vendors for timely delivery of materials and equipment needed for tasks. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or GED. Required: 4+ years of trade specific Electrical construction experience. Preferred: Prior experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend written (English) materials. Preferred: Professional Certifications or Licenses. Preferred: Previous construction experience, use of hand tools, and mechanical aptitude. Physical Demands: Must be able to adhere to standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting. Must be able to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. Work in hazardous or sensitive environments, confined spaces, and adverse conditions.
