Position is responsible for performing skilled craftwork activities in any of the following areas of carpentry, concrete, and steel work and for serving as a lead to skilled and/or unskilled construction workers in the absence of a Job Superintendent. In absence of a job superintendent, ensures projects are on schedule and completed by working with subcontractors and ensuring crews have equipment, purchases materials and maintains adequate inventories. Facilitate effective communication of project changes, goals, and objectives by coordinating and/or leading client meetings. Inspects work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and adherence to work schedules. Performs skilled craftwork activities in the areas of carpentry, concrete, and steel & millwright on projects where foreman duties are not required. Maintains the schedule of self-performed work and pushes crew. Provides input for three-week look-ahead schedules to deliver accurate expectations to the project team. Operates and maintains equipment and ensures preventative maintenance is completed by scheduling lubrications, mechanical adjustments, washes, and mechanical work. Position is responsible for performing skilled craftwork activities in any of the following areas of carpentry, concrete, and steel work and for serving as a lead to skilled and/or unskilled construction workers in the absence of a Job Superintendent. Job Description Reports To: General Superintendent Summary Directs job site plumbing crew to complete jobs assigned by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Safety is always first. An OSHA 10 is a prerequisite for employment. We can / will provide access at our expense to the class. However, time spent taking the class will not be paid. Individuals are expected to prioritize safety of themselves and others. Foremen are expected to lead by example. Complete all safety related documentation/training. Monitors/corrects/ensures construction quality. The foreman is expected to lead by example and set the tone for a high level of quality. Directs all on site plumbing construction activities. Coordinates all crew travel and lodging. Directs morning/lunch/afternoon breaks. Inventories plumbing components and steel structures on job site and reports any shortfalls or excess on a timely basis (such that shortfalls will not impact productivity) Ensures all crewmen are active and productive. Assesses construction progress weekly and provide oral report at foreman meeting. Maintains liaison with customers and vendors. Maintains an accurate accounting and accountability of man hours spent on project. Maintains an accurate accounting of operational expenses spent on job site. Estimates and maintains effective control of project and cost, for review and approval by General Manger. Assumes complete plumbing construction responsibility. Meets with management annually to review manpower budgets. Responsible to keep work area clean and free of debris on a daily basis.
