POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY The Construction Foreman I is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by planning, organizing, managing, and participating the day-to-day onsite duties of the project. LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the crew and occasionally may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised. Assistance with the preparation the reports for Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development (LADOTD) and Developer. Maintains accurate reporting records including job quantities, time sheets, and daily management reports. Oversee the daily operations and maintenance activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations. Track and analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify issues, enhance efficiency, and improve reliability. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Understand and comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures as well as OSHA Regulations. Quickly respond to breakdowns or emergencies, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to restore operations safely. Assist in the assurance of contractual compliance in terms of scope work. Participates in safety and environmental programs and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, top-tier talent retention, and directed recruiting efforts. Supervises team, including training, providing work direction, problem-solving assistance, reviewing performance, recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, and terminations. Directs a crew in raising, placing and uniting girders, columns and other structural steel members to form completed structures or structure framework. Should be familiar with steel drawings being able to derive location, orientation and other necessary practices to direct a crew in completing job tasks in a timely, safe and efficient manner. RESPONSIBILITIES - Plans and directs a crew(s) work and timelines on completion of tasks assigned. - Sets up hoisting equipment, raising and placing structural-steel members, with basic rigging knowledge for raising an placing structural steel members. - Fastens steel members to cable of hoist, using chain, cable or rope. - Signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members. - Guides member, using tag line in order to guide it into position. - Pulls, pushes or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device. - Forces members into final position, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools. - Aligns bolt holes in steel member using drift pins or spud wrenches. - Verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level. Bolts align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place. - Cuts and welds steel members to make alterations using oxyacetylene welding equipment and supplies. - Loads, transports, unloads material, tools, equipment and supplies. - May assist in lifting, positions and securing of materials and work pieces during installation. - Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment. - Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment. LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Subject Matter Expert (SME) for onsite Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) activities. Supports and aids with MOT subcontractors onsite. Oversee the daily MOT activities, ensuring they are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and regulations.
