Responsibilities Obtain all the necessary materials for the job, and ensure all permits and licenses are in place. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate or GED preferred At least three years' experience as a carpenter Dependable and cooperative Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible to organize and schedule carpentry work to personnel. * Performs tasks involving woodwork and in some cases light metal jobs such as: framing, chalkboards, bulletin boards, bleachers, concrete forms. * Performs small-scale construction and remodeling projects. * Repair and maintain hardware, locks, hinges and other accessories. * Ensures an adequate inventory of carpentry supplies and materials. * Trains others in the use of carpentry equipment and other equipment used by carpenters. * Ensures that all work orders are successfully completed and submitted to office staff in a timely manner. * Ensures that all carpentry equipment is operational and safe. * Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws. * Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. * Performs other related duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT USED: * District vehicle, electric power tools (drill, saw, etc.), electric floor machines, and hand tools.
