Report to: Superintendent
Summary:
The Foreman is responsible for supervising work crews. Primary responsibilities include:
(1) Safety (i.e.: meet or exceed OSHA Standards)
(2) Quality (i.e.: meet or exceed plan & specification requirements)
(3) Schedule (i.e.: meet or gain project schedule days)
(4) Budget (i.e.: meet or gain on estimated cost to perform work)
(5) Project Records (i.e.: 100% accurate and timely data reporting)
(6) Employee Relations (i.e.: EEO, training)
Perform all duties consistent with the Company Mission Statement and the “Team Miller” philosophy. Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, employees, and the public.
Responsibilities:
Safety
Ensure the crew complies with OSHA Standards, MSHA Standards and MBC Safety Programs. This includes knowing and applying proper safety practices for field operations, insuring PPE (i.e.: Personal Protective Equipment) is available and properly utilized, trained personnel are utilized (i.e.: competent person, traffic supervisor, etc.) and issue safety violation notices to employees who fail to comply.
Report Safety Incidents immediately to the Project Superintendent & Safety Manager. Complete a Safety Incident Report in conjunction with the Safety Manager within 48 hours of the incident.
Conduct a tool box safety talk every morning with your crew and prior to the major start of a new operation.
Quality, Schedule, Budget
Review and understand plans, specifications and standard drawings for the work to be performed. Build the work to meet or exceed specifications.
Insure materials utilized are from the approved source and are available when needed.
Review crew size (i.e.: trucks, equipment & labor) in HCSS Heavy Job and complete the work within the time & cost allocated (minimum requirement).
Care for equipment assigned to the project. Report equipment maintenance issues to the Superintendent immediately.
Project Records
Complete and send accurate HCSS Heavy Job Reports to the Archbold office by 10 AM the following day.
Complete accurate extra work forms daily (as required) including signature of the owners' representative (i.e.: inspector/engineer).
Review actual cost vs. estimated cost as shown on HCSS Heavy Job. Review with the Superintendent and make adjustments as needed.
Employee Relations
Inform employees of all current company policies regarding EEO, Affirmative Action, Sexual Harassment and ADA. Insure policies are met on the project. Report employee complaints and violations immediately to Human Resources for action.
Perform on-going training of assigned employees in all areas of the work.
Authority:
To direct the work of employees, suppliers, and subcontractors assigned to you on the project.
To order materials, trucks and schedule subcontractors necessary to perform the work through the Superintendent.
To order equipment and manpower necessary to perform the work through the Superintendent and General Superintendent.
To reprimand, terminate and replace hourly employees not performing the work. This must be reviewed with and approved by the Superintendent and General Superintendent.
Education & Experience:
Field experience in landfill construction or heavy civil construction with a focus on mass excavation, HDPE pipe installation experience is a plus.
Background in heavy equipment operation preferred.
30-Hour OSHA certification, MSHA certification and First Aid/CPR training required or willingness to obtain.
Experience with estimating, production tracking, and cost control is a plus.

Five Key Roles of the Foreman - Concrete:
* Accurately enter all timesheets into Procore; including proper cost codes for work performed the previous day by 9:00 am.
* Enter and validate complete daily logs including weather, notes, photos, equipment, productivity (deliveries), documents, and descriptions for work completed the previous day by 9:00am.
* Communicate daily production goals to the team and assign duties to qualified tradespersons to achieve target production rates.
* Complete job site safety inspection, toolbox talks and identify potential hazards to the team to ensure project safety. All incident reports are completed in a timely manner.
* Ensure no T&M and/or change order work is started until PM has validated written commitment from the customer and ensure accurate tracking of T&M and/or change order work in Procore.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Validate accurate take-off quantities and ensure that materials, equipment, and subcontractors are on site according to the project schedule.
* Review, validate, and shoot grades and ensure elevations are correct according to the latest drawing revision.

You will conduct pre-job meetings with the Superintendent or Project Manager to review work orders, establish labor budgets, determine crew size, and confirm material lists. Throughout the day, you will monitor job site safety in accordance with OSHA standards, manage overall quality to meet manufacturer specifications, and verify that materials are ready for the next phase of work. Summary:

The Foreman will be responsible for keeping trade workers on target with job site deadlines while making sure all safety guidelines are followed. Five Key Roles of the Foreman - Concrete:
Accurately enter all timesheets into Procore; including proper cost codes for work performed the previous day by 9:00 am.
Enter and validate complete daily logs including weather, notes, photos, equipment, productivity (deliveries), documents, and descriptions for work completed the previous day by 9:00am.
Communicate daily production goals to the team and assign duties to qualified tradespersons to achieve target production rates.
Complete job site safety inspection, toolbox talks and identify potential hazards to the team to ensure project safety. All incident reports are completed in a timely manner.
Ensure no T&M and/or change order work is started until PM has validated written commitment from the customer and ensure accurate tracking of T&M and/or change order work in Procore.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Validate accurate take-off quantities and ensure that materials, equipment, and subcontractors are on site according to the project schedule.
Review, validate, and shoot grades and ensure elevations are correct according to the latest drawing revision.
Complete 3-week look ahead and review with General Superintendent and PM to align to the project schedule.
Daily communication and job progress update with the PM including any identified risks to schedule, quantities, or manpower that to be addressed.
Track equipment, form, shoring and other assets on the job and remove when work is completed.
Pour card validation.
Perform daily equipment inspection in Tenna.
Organize Miss Dig/One Call.
Ensure the quality of daily work completed on site.
Execute all punch list items to completion.
Organize and direct personnel to execute project requirements.
Interpret plans, shop drawings and specifications to perform work correctly.
Order materials per plans and specifications as assigned by supervisor.
Schedule equipment and tools as assigned and coordinated.
Organize and manage all demobilization activities for manpower, equipment and materials.
Ensure craftsmen maintain a clean and safe job site.
Ensure OSHA, safety, and environmental regulation compliance.
Identify potential design, construction or scheduling problems and advise superintendent.
Clarify discrepancies and questions concerning plans and drawings.
Oversee construction projects from beginning to end and coordinate workers without supervision.
Ability to identify and correct unsafe acts.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:
5+ years of Concrete Foreman experience.
