    Job Description Supervising Clinical Forensic Specialist - Queens Under the direction of the Director of Clinical and Forensic Services, the Supervising Clinical Forensic Specialist is responsible for the supervision of Clinical Forensic Specialists and for the provision of direct forensic, mental health and victim advocacy and support services to clients at the Child Advocacy Center. The Supervising Clinical Forensic Specialist supports the Clinical and Senior Directors in coordinating CAC service provision, ensuring adequate program coverage, and providing guidance, direction and clinical expertise to a team of Clinical Forensic Specialists and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Essential Job Functions: Provides direct individual clinical, administrative and observational supervision to a team of three or more Clinical Forensic Specialists in accordance with the CAC's quality supervision plan; Integrates a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into all client practice and supervision of staff, and coaches staff to ensure all client practice reflects this approach; Co-facilitates clinical and forensic peer group supervision; Collaborates with the Director of Clinical and Forensic Services to assign cases for on-site mental health and victim advocacy and support services; Collaborates with the Director of Clinical and Forensic Services, Multidisciplinary Team Coordinators and the Family Advocates overseeing the proper completion and submission of OVS claim applications and ECAP applications; Represents Safe Horizon at client conferences facilitated by ACS, Foster Care Agencies and/or Preventive Agencies to ensure the coordination of mental health, victim advocacy, medical and forensic services through the CAC; Collaborates with the Clinical and Senior Directors in implementing CAC quality improvement initiatives relating to forensic interviews, CCP, CCFE, and CFTSI; Conducts forensic interviews; Provides trauma focused intervention and support to child victims and their on-offending family members; Collaborates with the Clinical and Senior Directors in the preparation and presentation of cases for expedited case review and/or case review meetings with the MDT and actively participates in same; Collaborates with the Clinical and Senior Directors in the collection and review of data in REDCAP and CMS, and ensures timely and accurate data entry by the Clinical Forensic Specialists; Provides consultation to the MDT in areas of CAC best practice, forensic interviewing of children, client engagement, case management, and clinical and service delivery methods; Assists the Senior Director with program administration, statistical reporting and program enhancement and development; Participates in the recruitment, hiring and orienting of new staff; Supervises the activities of graduate interns as needed; Other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Reports: Clinical Forensic Specialist Qualifications: A Master's Degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a related field. LMSW or MHC-LP is preferred. Prior clinical supervision experience is required. Demonstrated appreciation for the CAC multidisciplinary team program model and alignment with Safe Horizon's anti-racism work Sound knowledge of child trauma, child development and issues relating to victimization. Demonstrated experience working with children and families impacted by abuse and trauma is preferred.     Purpose The Denial Management Specialist role belongs to the Revenue Cycle team and is responsible for investigating and resolving complex third-party insurance denials and outstanding claims. The role aids in optimizing reimbursement by conducting exhaustive research and taking prompt action to resolve denials. The primary function of the role is to resolve payer denials while performing advanced level work related to referral, authorizations, notifications, non-coverage, medical necessity, and others as assigned. This role requires adherence to quality assurance guidelines as well as established productivity standards to support the work unit's performance expectations. This position reports to the Patient Financial Engagement Manager and requires interaction and collaboration with important stakeholders in the financial clearance process including but not limited to insurance company representatives, patients, physicians, and practice staff. Execute the denial appeals process which includes receiving, accessing, documenting, tracking, responding to, and/or resolving appeals with third-party payers in a timely manner for services provided to managed care patients. **This is a fully remote role** Responsibilities Comprehensive research and review to resolve payer claim denials. Researches payer denials related to referral, pre-authorization, notifications, medical necessity, non-covered services, and billing resulting in denials and delays in payment. Requires extensive knowledge of carrier specific claim appeal guidelines. Conducts comprehensive reviews of the claim denial and makes determinations if an authorization needs to be obtained, a written appeal is needed, or if no action is needed. Writes and submits professionally written detailed appeals which include compelling arguments based on clinical documentation, third-party medical policies, and contract language. Customize appeals to payers in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party guidelines as well as VitalConnect policies and procedures. Possesses proven analytical and decision-making skills to determine what selective clinical information must be submitted to properly appeal the denial. Contact payers, via website, payer portal, phone and/or correspondence, regarding reimbursement of claims. Understands medical billing requirements for Medicare, Medicaid, contracted, in-network, out of network and commercial payers. Strong understanding of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, IPO, etc.), coordination of benefits, medical terminology, limited coverage and utilization guidelines, denial remark codes and timely filing guidelines. Responsible for tracking and trending of recovery efforts by utilizing various departmental tools and appropriately reporting on-going problems specific to payers and/or contracts. Ensuring all eligible accounts are appealed within the designated payer time frames and are documented appropriately in the patient software system. Consistently meet the current productivity standards in taking appropriate actions to identify and track root causes, successfully appeal denied accounts, and trend issues. Must be cross trained and functional in all areas within the department as it relates to A/R and denials. Extensive working knowledge with insurance explanation of benefits (EOB) and comprehensive understanding of remittance and remark codes. Experience accessing payer portals such as Navinet, Availity, etc.to obtain information and upload appeals, etc. Provide individual contribution to the overall team effort of achieving the department A/R goal. Escalate exhausted accounts that will not be financially cleared as outlined by department policy to management. Contact payers to determine cause of denial and steps to appeal. Knowledge pertaining to different insurance plans, coordination of benefits, explanation of benefits and coverage and utilization guidelines. The program is designed for individuals with a history of behavioral difficulties that cannot be successfully maintained in their family home setting, a history of multiple unsuccessful placements, as well as victims of abuse/maltreatment and trauma. The program provides individual, group, and family therapy with 24-hour supervision within a highly structured therapeutic milieu POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Enhanced Support Team Supervisor, the Crisis Intervention Specialist supervises clients, provides a safe and secure environment and applies agency-approved methods of behavior modification including the point system, verbal de-escalation techniques, and physical intervention if needed. Shifts assigned may vary and change according to Agency needs. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent or a Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Deliver FCT services to children, adolescents, and their families, primarily in their living environments, with a family focus. Provide 24/7 on-call coverage to a caseload of families and children. Complete all required Clinical Records and FCT documents with the child and family and ensure the documents are entered/uploaded timely in the Electronic Health Record, according to company standards. Develop Service Plan in coordination with Treatment Team Process and maintain the plan per designated authorization processes in the clinician's area of service. Work collaboratively on behalf of the child and family with the identified Treatment Team members to ensure effective communication and coordinated service provision. Conduct ongoing revisions of Service Plan and is responsible for implementation of Service Plan. Provide psychoeducation as indicated in the Service Plan. Conduct interventions with the family aligned with the FCT model to include facilitating the movement of the child and family through the four phases of treatment and completing all fidelity documents. Assist the families and children to establish weekly goals and help them to identify the steps that need to be taken to reach the established goals. Make referrals to services and resources on behalf of the families and children. Develop and coordinate discharge plan based on treatment, indicating all relevant aftercare needs and plans. Access community resources that would be beneficial to client aftercare needs. Coordinate and oversee the initial and ongoing assessment activities. Convene the Treatment Team for Service Plan. Consult with identified medical (e.g., primary care and psychiatric) and non-medical (e.g., Dept. of Child Services, school, Dept. of Juvenile Justice) providers; engage community and natural supports and include their input in the person-centered planning process. Ensure linkage to the most clinically appropriate and effective services including arranging for psychological and psychiatric evaluations. Provide and coordinate behavioral health services and other interventions for the youth or other family members with other behavioral health professionals and Treatment Team members. Monitor and document the status of the consumer's progress. Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement activities to include audits, corrections and designated improvement plans and projects. Qualifications Education & Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field is required. Two years' experience working with youth or families. Current Family Centered Treatment Certification is preferred. Additional state specific requirements include: Ohio LSW or eligibility for provisional licensure preferred. North Carolina and Virginia QMHP or ability to register as a QMHP. Mississippi Must be provisionally credentialed as a PCSS in Mississippi with eligibility to be fully credentialed as a CCSS in Mississippi.
