In 1996 The CEO Peter Liegl purchased Certain resources of Cobra industries where he served for seven years.
In 1996, Forest River founder Peter Liegl had a vision.
In 1997 a second cargo trailer was established by the Forest River company which is known as Continental Cargo.
In 2002 Vanguard was purchased by Forest River, Inc.
In the fall of 2005, Forest River, Inc., and it's divisions were acquired by Berkshire Hathaway.
In December of 2008, Coachmen RV became a proud brand of Forest River, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company.
In 2009, a few RV industry veterans with over 100 years of combined manufacturing experience decided to form a new company—a company that would allow us to better connect with our dealers and customers.
In 2011 the Forest River Owners’ Group (FROG) was formed, and it quickly has grown to over 155,000 members.
