Jason Heckathorn is a high energy leader with passions for conservation, humanitarian work, and technology. Jason founded the Mobile Fish Pens line of business at Lockheed Martin by reusing defense technologies for sustainable fish farming. Jason lead the spin-out of Mobile Fish Pens to create the Forever Oceans Corporation. Forever Oceans is on a mission to to nourish the world with delicious seafood through eco-friendly innovation.Jason has served in a number of different business development and business execution leadership roles during his career. These ventures have spanned all phases of corporate lifecycles and six continents. Jason won government contracts over $400M and raised over $50M of venture capital. He has experience building motivated cross-cultural teams, operating in complex business climates, obtaining large scale government permits, and turning around failing programs.Jason thrives in markets that require creative business strategies and is bold in undertaking impactful ventures. Prior to his time at Lockheed Martin, Jason launched innoport.com. He spends his personal time leading conservation trips and volunteering at his church. Jason holds three Ivy League degrees, has been an adviser to the KAUST Entrepreneurship Program as well as Oceans X Labs, and has been a speaker at the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture. Sam C. Yakulis are an Industrial Advisory Board Member at Virginia Tech College of Engineering and Chief Operating Officer at Forever Oceans and are based in Blacksburg, Virginia. They have worked as Engineer at Georator Corporation, President at Yakulis Labs, and Volunteer Fire Fighter at Portland Fire & Rescue. Sam studied at George Mason University between 2002 and 2005 and Virginia Tech between 1985 and 1991.

Sandro Rezzio Jil has spent more than 31 years in the aquaculture industry in different countries - including Chile, Vietnam, Canada, USA and Panama. As a Production and Operations Manager, he produced 18,000 tons of salmon (Atlantic and coho salmon and trout) per year in Chile, 1,100 tons of warm water fish (cobia, pompano and barramundi) per year in Vietnam, and 16,000 tons of Atlantic salmon per year in Canada. He holds a Fisheries Technician degree from Instituto Profesional Zipter in Viña del Mar, a Fisheries Engineer degree from Universidad de Concepcion in Concepcion, and a Diploma in Management Skills from the Universidad de Chile.

He began working in the Salmon Industry in Chile in 1989 and spent his time there working with numerous companies in various aquaculture applications, until his departure for Vietnam in 2011. Sandro has extensive experience from mapping diets to production schedules for a variety of different fish species. Since 2011 he has worked in Vietnam, Canada, US (and now in Panama) at established companies.

Sandro’s main focus in the Aquaculture industry has been the reduction of production costs through Economic Feed Conversion Ratio (EFCR) optimization, mortality reduction and granular feed control refinement. Sandro has worked closely with the engineering and biology teams in Hawaii; he’s provided valuable feedback during design cycles, improved critical component vendor relationships, and incorporated best practices into all ongoing operations.
