Position Summary
Accurately processes all customer and replenishment orders in a manner to ensure safety, quality and performance goals are met on a daily basis.
Position Responsibilities
1. Pull raw material request orders for delivery to specified work centers in production and properly scan in RF device; supply required consumables to production areas and handle disposal of some waste from the production floor, i.e. bad pallets, recyclables, etc.
2. Return material to the raw warehouse and consolidate into existing bays where possible upon put away and properly scan in RF device.
3. Follow all safety procedures, including safety startup checklists at the beginning of the shift for powered industrial vehicles, notifying the team leader/supervisor of any equipment problems immediately, wearing all required PPE, participating in 6S events, and maintaining good housekeeping and execution of standard work.
4. Report any scrap, damaged product, or quality problems to the team leader/supervisor immediately.
5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers by willingness to take on additional responsibility and/or support as assigned.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience
Required
Good communication skills, English fluency, both verbal and written. Forklift operator authorization required and demonstrated ability in safe equipment operation, including elevated locations (heights). Must be able to comply with manufacturer's weight limit to wear required safety tether for picking at elevated locations. Demonstrated ability in proper freight handling. Working knowledge of all hazardous shipping rules and regulations. Willingness to work and to follow instructions. Reading ability sufficient to identify labels and understand written documentation.Cooperative attitude toward co-workers and supervisors.
Preferred
One to four (1-4) years of experience in a warehouse setting. Skills in operating a forklift, reach truck, and order picker are preferred, but not required (applicant will be required to complete the company powered industrial truck certification training and operate an order picker within first 3 months).

Position Purpose:
Responsible for performing a variety of routine hazardous and non-hazardous waste tasks in the movement of solids and liquids. Under direct supervision, tasks could include all types of manual labor in cleaning and decontamination operations, vacuum projects and handling, packing, re-packing, unloading and loading containers for processing at site or transportation to appropriate facilities.

* Previous experience operating Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift, Slip Sheet/Clamp.
* Must complete pre-employment physical agility test.
* Ability to make timely decisions using sound judgement.
* Ability to learn quickly and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to provide self-motivation with strong communication and customer service skills.
* Working knowledge of basic math and computer skills.

Metro is a 24 hour/7 day a week emergency response customer service organization. This position will require work on an intermittent basis, during emergency or special situations in which Metro will be required to temporarily increase its capabilities for warehousing and distribution.
You will be required to:
Work a minimum of one 4-hour training shift each month.
Participate in one randomly announced, extended training exercise each calendar year. The duration of the exercise typically lasts up to 8 hours.
Be available on an ‘as needed' basis in response to emergency situations. Any such occasion will require up to 8 hours in length to cover the Third Shift: 11:00PM - 7:30AM. However, you may be called to work for a period of 30 or more consecutive days.
This is a great opportunity to earn extra income! Although this position is on-call on a regular, ongoing basis, the actual hours worked, other than periodic training and readiness sessions that may be scheduled in advance, will be random and intermittent.
