The Loader Operator's primary function is to operate a Loader at the site of work to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building type structures; equipment operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed Duties/Responsibilities: •Operates a Loader to complete tasks such as move and/or transport materials such as dirt, rocks, and other types of aggregate •Must have knowledge of operating procedures as it pertains to loading and unloading materials •May oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments on equipment; perform daily safety and maintenance checks; complete paperwork and other documentation as needed •May perform other related duties as required Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to understand directions and read blueprints. Ability to properly care for and use tools of the trade. Thorough understanding of construction principles and methods. Works well as part of a team. Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required 2+ years of loader operating experience, preferably with roadways or bridges. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment. Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains. Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
