Your Role: As a key member of the warehouse team, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of goods into and out of the facility. This role requires a combination of administrative, organizational, and physical skills. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will work cross functionally with other departments within the organization, as well as with outside vendors, carriers, and customers. What You'll Be Doing: · Prepare, package, and label products for outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality. · Receive, inspect, and record all incoming shipments with precision. · Create product packing lists and shipping documents from ERP system. · Choose appropriate packaging for product based on customer requirement. · Check orders for accuracy before packaging and shipment. · Arrange transportation services as requested by customer, or determine most cost-effective method of transportation when customer preference is not provided · Interact cross functionally with other departments within the plant to meet shipments or solve problems. · Create and provide documentation to appropriate departments for Quality purposes · Notify and or deliver incoming products to appropriate departments. · Process and prepare documentation for all returns. · Material Handling - Forklift Operation.     Basic Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED equivalency. * 3 years machine shop experience * Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department. * Intermediate mathematical calculations involving decimals, ratios, etc. * Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation * Prior working knowledge of machine shop operations. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: * Plan sequence of operations to produce part(s). * Set up and operate all manual equipment. (i.e. - lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, hand tools to fabricate parts and tools, etc.) * Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM. * Perform duties on complex prototypes or first-time builds. * Compliantly troubleshoots tools, fixtures, and equipment as necessary * Ensure speeds, feeds, and tooling is correct for material being processed. * Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements * Frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. - Planners, Engineering) outside of home department. * Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach. * Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. * Participate in and support team initiatives. * Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements. * Exemplifies and coaches' others on the GE Leadership behaviors. * Other duties as be required Desired Qualifications: * 3-5 years machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment * Education and/or training in machine shop operations * Understanding of CNC and manual machine operations * Experience in a self-directed team environment * Lean manufacturing knowledge • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn. * Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively * Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed * Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative. * Problem-solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker * Ability to use Microsoft applications to analyze data (i.e. -Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.). * Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge Physical Demands: * Ability to continuously use hands and fingers in repetition. * Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, twist, crouch, squat, climb, and/or balance. • Ability to continuously sit; ability to occasionally lift to 20-85 lbs (heavier items with assistance); ability to push/pull up to 22 lbs. * All job descriptions are subject to change.
