Position Summary
This position will work under the direction of a Supervisor, Supervising Foreman, Foreman, Journeyman as assigned. The Equipment Operator II is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of heavy equipment to support the construction, maintenance, and repair of the electric systems, including both overhead and underground.
Performs specialized work in operating electrical line construction equipment and related attachments including certified crane operation. Responsibilities also include maintaining proper stock of supplies for equipment and assisting with groundman duties as needed. Assist in the training of appropriate use of equipment to other employees including the Equipment Operator I. The role requires exceptional hand-eye coordination to ensure safe and efficient performance when working near energized, high-voltage power lines.
