Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join our world-class engineering team. Our team is responsible for specifying, scaling, and sustaining the equipment and processes that enable high-quality electrode manufacturing for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will focus on electrode assembly processes-including welding, epoxy dispense, and inspection-that are critical to product quality and reliability. You will partner closely with equipment suppliers, process engineers, and operations teams to define equipment specifications, oversee commissioning, and drive continuous improvements. Your ownership of these processes will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient scaling of our electrode assembly lines.
This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 - Form Energy's 550,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in Weirton, WV, a commutable distance from Pittsburgh. Purpose-built for high-volume, advanced battery production, Form Factory 1 is a hub of fast-moving, collaborative work driving a new era of large-scale American energy manufacturing in the heart of the Rust Belt.

What you'll do:
* Define process and equipment specifications for electrode assembly systems, including welding, epoxy dispense, and automated inspection.
* Partner with equipment suppliers and internal teams to support design reviews, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning.
* Own standard operating conditions, process documentation, and safety protocols for electrode assembly.
* Monitor process and equipment performance, implementing data-driven improvements to maximize yield, reliability, and throughput.
* Provide hands-on support for troubleshooting equipment and process upsets in a fast-paced production environment.
* Partner with operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrode assembly equipment.
What you'll bring:
* 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within an assembly, welding, or dispensing environment.
* Hands-on experience with automated assembly equipment, including robotics, welding (resistance, laser, or ultrasonic), adhesive/epoxy dispense, and inspection systems.
* Proficiency with 3D CAD (Solidworks, CATIA, etc) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD).
* Demonstrated ability to work with equipment vendors through design reviews, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
* Strong foundation in process characterization, capability analysis, and data-driven troubleshooting.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience writing technical documentation and operating standards.
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.

This individual will be responsible for designing and scaling QuantumScape's unique solid-state lithium metal batteries for high volume production. This work includes designing new cell structures, encasings, components, and assembly tools in addition to methodologies to validate the fidelity of these new designs. You must have experience working with electrochemical energy storage devices such as lithium-based batteries or similar technology.
What You'll do:
* Lead in the design, development, and implementation of new solid-state Li-metal battery designs for manufacturing scale-up with cross functional teams
* Utilize thermal and mechanical simulation to drive the detailed mechanical design of cell architecture to meet customer mechanical, thermal, and pack level integration requirements
* Identify, specify, and set requirements with suppliers for cell components, assembly tools and manufacturing solutions for scale-up
* Develop methodologies and experiments to validate key cell design performance, reliability, and safety criteria
* Collaborate with cell build process teams, equipment design teams, safety, quality, metrology, and production teams to execute on critical path projects
Skills You'll need:
* BS or higher degree in mechanical engineering, material science, or similar concentration

NEXTracker seeks a creative and experienced Staff Mechanical Design Engineer for a position on the mechanical structures team. This engineer will be responsible for designing steel frame components to support NEXTracker's goal of leading industry-wide adoption of steel frame technology.
Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:
Lead product design and engineering development of NEXTracker steel frame products
· Oversee concept development, design, and engineering for new and existing products, with a strong focus on manufacturability, scalability, and cost optimization.
Perform and manage engineering work using CAD / FEA software to solve problems in mechanical / structural design, finite element analysis, design optimization, tolerance stack-ups, prototype generation, fatigue analysis, and production of manufacturing drawings
Participate in brainstorming sessions with the mechanical engineering team to identify concepts and designs for future improvements
Problem solve time sensitive manufacturing and production issues gating product launches and ramps
Partner with global suppliers and tooling partners to validate designs, optimize production processes, and resolve technical challenges.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of issues discovered during pilot testing
Manage internal R&D budget during development process

Here is some of what you'll need (required):
B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
10+ years of relevant experience
Toolsets required: SolidWorks, ePDM, FEA (ANSYS preferred)
Extensive knowledge/experience with drawings, model and tolerance standards and application.
Strong understanding of DFM for castings and sheet metal stampings
Extensive knowledge of GD&T standards, tolerance analysis
Experience in mass production manufacturing and part validation (Stampings/Rollings/Castings/Injection Molding)
Strong aptitude and intuition in mechanical failure analysis
Practical knowledge of prototyping manufacturing process
Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

A day in the life
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Swift, you'll help create equipment to make affordable, high-efficiency perovskite photovoltaics. Your main responsibility will be working with the equipment engineering team to design, procure, and install parts and assemblies for thin-film deposition and processing equipment. Your designs will help Swift improve process performance and prepare for manufacturing scale-up.
On a typical day, you might design components for vacuum chambers and other process equipment, make drawings to send to suppliers to source high-quality parts quickly and cost-effectively, perform a thermal and mechanical analysis of a new assembly, work with technicians to install and troubleshoot an assembly, and contribute to developing Swift's engineering practices and documentation standards.
This role is expected to interact with process engineers and technologists to address their challenges by designing and procuring mechanical parts. Part of the job is developing and executing test plans and optimizing performance of electro-mechanical devices designed in house and adapting commercial equipment to perovskite cells production processes.

Have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
Have used 3D CAD software to design a variety of parts made by machining, 3D printing, sheet metal processes, and/or welding (SolidWorks preferred).
Enjoy working with suppliers to get consistent quality parts, testing and troubleshooting systems that you and the team have designed.
Have a desire to learn standards and best practices to help improve Swift's engineering processes.

3+ years of industrial engineering experience working with vacuum equipment or other materials processing equipment in photovoltaics, semiconductors, batteries, or a similar industry.
Knowledge of proper dimensioning and tolerance analysis including ASME Y14.5M.
Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly and serviceability.
Past projects using computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis for flow, thermal, and structural simulations (using ANSYS or similar).
Experience working with a formal document control system and release process for parts and drawings.

Job Summary
Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer with expertise relevant to mechanical design, 3-D modeling, stress analysis and manufacturing of reactor systems hardware. In this role, you will contribute to the engineering design and technology development programs for the FHR. The candidate should also have experience in codes and standards specifically ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). Familiarity with manufacturing process including machining, forming, and welding, is also desirable.
Responsibilities
Develop mechanical design information, including functional requirements, for major FHR systems, structures and components, and document in design packages
Perform mechanical design tradeoff and optimization studies
Create and update CAD models for FHR systems, structures, and components
Create engineering drawings, including dimensioning and tolerancing
Perform static and dynamic calculations for systems, structures, and components to evaluate stresses due to thermal seismic, thermal, and primary loads using analytical and FEA methods
Maintain knowledge of and assess compliance with applicable codes and standards of ASME, ANSI, and ASTM
Proficient in solid mechanics, failure theories and stress criteria at high temperatures for alloy steels or composite materials
Ability to visualize construction, maintenance and operational constraints affecting plant layout and design of structures, systems, and components
Develop feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and optimization studies to support cost and design targets
Support manufacturing of FHR components including the DFM studies, evaluations of manufacturing plans and review of inspection reports
Publish technical reports documenting calculations, analysis, design requirements, descriptions, and test results

Qualifications
Bachelors or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or similar fields of study
2+ years of experience in engineering design; experience in oil & gas, chemical, power, nuclear, or similar industry is preferred.
2+ years of experience in CAD modeling and mechanical design strongly preferred.
2+ years of experience using analytical methods and FEA simulation to perform thermal and stress analysis is a plus.
Experience with Codes and Standards, specifically ASME BPVC Section VIII; experience in Section III Division 5, is a plus
Experience with design and analysis of nuclear mechanical systems, such as reactor vessel and internals is a plus
Familiarity with heavy industry, ASME pressure vessel manufacturing, or direct experience working in machine or welding shops is a plus
