    About the Company The Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Specialist III will create 3D Models of electrical components for construction projects within the specified schedule as a senior team contributor. The specialist will communicate and work closely with the VDC team, especially the VDC Supervisor, as well as Project Managers, and Field Supervisors as needed to coordinate the layout of electrical components as required for the projects. Coordination will be required with other Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) Trade Partners and General Contractors, with oversight. Work also requires occasional 2D drafting, detailing, Total Station point drawings and other miscellaneous document work. Responsibilities Model 3D elements from start to finish for electrical work on construction projects within specified schedule. Coordinate drawings with needs of project working with field supervisor a Finish drawings per established project schedule. Provide final install drawings to project management for field personnel with limited supervision. Provide final as-built models to project management for general contractor for delivery to owner. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to less skilled VDC Team members as a back up to VDC Supervisor. Distribute task to less experienced VDC Team members assigned to a specific project. Software Maintenance and Knowledge Maintain all required software licenses required to complete work. Keep current of new software as becomes available to replace, supplement and enhance existing software programs in order to make work more effective. Create and utilize Revit families and templates. Provide recommendations on standard operating procedures within the team. Project Coordination Attend project coordination meetings with General Contractor, MEP Trade Contractors, Architect and Engineers as scheduled/required to keep current of project developments, milestones and timelines. Attend project coordination meetings described above, potentially as the exclusive representative, to work through and resolves clashes and model conflicts. Qualifications This position requires a detail oriented employee with a passion for creating 3D models. Must have a desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately. Associates degree in Architectural Technology or related construction degree (or construction experience) is preferred. 5+ years' experience in Virtual Design Construction working with Revit and AutoCAD. Electrical contracting/construction experience is strongly preferred. Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Navisworks, and Microsoft Suite software. Preferred experience in One Model and BlueBeam. Proficiency within the Microsoft Suite (Office 365 and One Drive included) is required. This position is a full-time travel position. Applicants should expect to be out of town up to 100% of the time, with weekends home at least once a month. Our home office is in Manassas, VA where occasional meetings will take place. Our work area includes the northeast US from North Carolina to Maine in the east and Tennessee to Michigan to the west, with occasional opportunities outside of that territory. This position is not suitable for applicants with only welding experience. There are no welding duties in this position. This is a skilled craft position that constructs, erects, and repairs built-in place or prefabricated forms and structures, according to specifications, to include concrete footings, slabs, walls, columns, bridge decks, and bent caps. This position requires a candidate who is familiar with the process and operation of machines used for the layout of bridge finishing, tying rebar, and other related duties associated with heavy civil construction. Pay is negotiable and based on experience. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to): · Erect built-in-place forms or assemble and install prefabricated forms on the construction site according to blueprint specifications · Inspect all work-in-progress to ensure work conforms to specifications and plans · Ensure that all resources assigned are maintained, protected, secured and used at optimum efficiency · Identify extra work or change of conditions and report to project manager/project engineer. · Performs all work according to safety standards and promotes safety on all job sites, using the right tools of the trade for each activity. · Assist with survey and field layout. Assist estimators and engineers during the pursuit of new work including borrow pit locations and selection, plant site selection, value engineering, etc. · . Meet or exceed the standard for quality control and company safety policies on all aspects of performed work. Promoting and adhering to on-the-job training of personnel and corporate safety standards by taking an active role in emphasizing safety, quality and production, leading by example Knowledge · Read and follow blueprints, prepare project layouts, perform estimates for materials and check work along the way to ensure it meets code and specifications · Experience with pile driving, concrete forming, steel or concrete beam erection, temporary and permanent shoring, cofferdams, drilled-shaft foundations, and bridge deck forming and concrete placement. · Working knowledge of bridge super substructure and substructure, cofferdams, work trestles, and bridge deck construction methods used to construct major bridge structures and retaining walls · Work within precise standards of accuracy; able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and forms of lines, figures, and objects · Experience efficiently and safely operating trade tools and equipment. Qualifications · 3+ years of hands-on experience as a bridge carpenter working heavy construction preferred. · Strong knowledge and experience interpreting drawings/project specifications. · Working knowledge of driving pile, erection and wrecking all forms, setting and tying steel, pouring and finishing concrete, and set up and maintenance of erosion control · Knowledge of survey controls, grade checking; and bridge geometry · Competency in reading civil construction plans · Basic computer skills · Valid Driver License Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Normal work hours vary, based on project needs. Daily overtime is anticipated, and some weekend work will be required.
