David Jaffe has served as a director since 2001 and as our President and CEO since 2002. Previously, he had been Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer since 2001. Jaffe joined our Company in 1992 as Vice President, Business Development and became Senior Vice President in 1995, Executive Vice President in 1996 and Vice Chairman in 2001. David is the son of Elliot S. and Roslyn S. Jaffe. Elliot S. Jaffe is a co-founder and Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. Roslyn Jaffe is a co-founder and Director Emeritus of Life. David Jaffe is the brother of Elise Jaffe, a non-executive officer and a more than 5% stockholder, and Richard Jaffe, who owns approximately 5% of the Company’s stock. The Board selected Jaffe to serve as a director based on his extensive retail and financial background.

I am also an active member of the Board of the Business Executives for National Security, the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund and the Southwestern Medical Foundation. Additionally, I am proud to serve on the Kellogg School of Management Global Advisory Board, the Dallas Stars Ownership Advisory Group, the George W. Bush Presidential Center Military Service Initiative, and as a Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army (CASA). I hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
