The Property Attendant position performs duties associated with the warehouse, moving and recycling programs of the Property Management Division. Distinguishing Features
Basic understanding of building construction principles and practices, including electrical and mechanical systems; ability to identify current and potential fire hazards across various types of structures and installations; capable of following both oral and written instructions; skilled in writing clear and concise reports; able to interpret and enforce rules and regulations with fairness, tact, and consistency; possesses strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with colleagues and the public.
Minimum Education and Experience
* High School Diploma, GED, Associate's Degree Preferred
* Valid North Carolina Driver's License
* Two years of experience in an Emergency Services field focusing on Fire Suppression and/or Prevention Activities
* NC Standard Fire Inspector I (Probationary accepted with ability to obtain standard withing 6 months)
* NC Fire Life Safety Educator I or ability to obtain within one year
* ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
* Current CPR Certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Performs fire inspections to ensure compliance with the NC Fire Prevention Code
* Document fire code violations & issues citations & permits as needed
* Process fire inspections in department's RMS
* Researches and interprets Fire Code questions & inquiries
* Assist in providing Public Education programs as needed
* Performs related tasks as required or assigned
* Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
