Rank and salary will be commensurate with educational level and experience. Responsibilities Include: Teaching 12 hours per semester (24 hours per year) is required with the possibility of voluntary intersession and summer overload. Teaching content will include both undergraduate and graduate coursework. Instructional coursework may include a variety of exercise science and/or health science areas, as well as other courses yet to be determined. In addition, assisting with the development of a strength and condition concentration with certifications, academic mentoring, participation in scholarly activities, service to the university, the profession, and the community are requirements of this position. Minimum Qualifications: * Earned doctorate degree in Health and Human Performance or related discipline (such as exercise science, kinesiology, health sciences, public health, curriculum and instruction, etc.) preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote students' active participation in their own learning. Create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity and helps students to problem solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies. Help students reach their academic, personal and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every student's ability to learn. Contribute to and provide leadership in the student's academic and professional communities and promote collaboration and teamwork among members of these communities. Present effective instruction to students based upon approved course syllabi. Assess and grade students based upon legitimate assessment factors. Maintain and submit student attendance records and student grades. Hold one hour of student conference time per week for every course section taught. QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree and current Phlebotomy Technician Certification and/or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and current National Board Certification. Supplemented by at least 2 years of work experience in the field. - OR - National Board-Certified Phlebotomist with 3 years of current work experience in the field.
