NOV is actively recruiting ambitious college/university graduates for an Application Engineering role that will be part of our ReedHycalog Diamond Rotational Program.
The ReedHycalog Diamond Rotational Program offers recent college engineering graduates the opportunity to obtain meaningful work experiences through a structured 16-month rotational program. The program consists of four 4-month rotations in different geographically locations. The program is designed to help participants develop strong functional/technical expertise and business knowledge through challenging, hands-on assignments and exposure to various engineering groups across ReedHycalog. Towards the end of the program, participants will work with their management support team to identify full-time positions that best suit individual skill sets as well as company needs.
Participants will spend the 1st rotation in Fundamental Drill Bit Engineering training. The 2nd Rotation is with the Drill Bit Application Engineering team. The 3rd Rotation is with the Product Center Engineering Team. The 4th rotation is with the Borehole Enlargement Engineering Team. All 4 rotations will require travel and will be in geographically different locations. For the 2nd through 4th rotations, the participant will be working on engineering projects, learning new skills, and be participants in highly motivated and successful teams.
The start date for this program will be June 2, 2026
Customer Service:
Communicate and work with the Area Sales/Ops/Engineering/Optimization/Agent organizations to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the customer's plans, activities, issues, and opportunities
Focus regular actions and take initiatives to improve and sustain customer relationships
Establish consistent communication and develop leverage strategies with your account manager to improve profitability
Focus regular actions on special relationship initiatives that will take the relationship to the next level
Pursue/Seek/Gain leads on new operators to gain “ground floor” advantage

Operations:
Become proficient in drilling and ReedHycalog product application and the marketing the products & services.
Monitor tool performance and report trends to your team through regular reporting
Coordinate the gathering of competitor's performance data (bit records, run reports, downhole tools, etc.)
Prepare and provide technical application support to sales team through customer visits and presentations in the assigned area
Support with the local team with the bit repair process
Provide onsite support for bit runs as needed
Provide the drill bit dull grading and evaluation and trends
Sales Support:
Assist the sales force with detailed performance studies for optimization of drilling performance for critical or strategic applications
Provide direct support for the development and implementation of customer strategy
Maintain consistent communication with the Engineering Support team and assigned account manager concerning issue resolutions and current status of opportunities
Be prepared to provide technical applications support to sales account manager through customer visits and presentations at field site
Assisting for achieving sales metrics and KPI's for assigned rig count
Identify new business opportunities, qualifying needs and pursue key decision-makers, buyers on site
Share “best practice” methods, processes, and ideas across the business' countries/areas/regions
Reporting:
Create Application Maps / Study for the applications in your area
Capture tool performance data from ongoing jobs for data base entry and prepare to present customer run reports and run performance summaries.
Develop outstanding run reports for internal and external use
Create dull conditions reports for all required run in the area
Create incident reports analysis according to the QMS system
Product Development Process:
Provide basic engineering support on ReedHycalog applications, to ensure the successful utilization and operation of the given tool or product.
Lead the process of gathering Reedhycalog product information on the assigned area
Lead the process of gathering competitor intelligence information from customer applications.
Support field testing of new products and design improvements.
Maintain direct technical support in the introduction of new products at the field level.
Make recommendations to enhance existing products to drive reliability with the approval of direct supervisor
Assist in the PDP process for the assigned area
Assess performance needs of customer
Understand the design changes being introduced with the new product
Work with DSE and RDE teams to provide data necessary for application specific design
Follow-through with customer and DSE team to communicate performance and feedback necessary for subsequent improvements
Quality System:
Provide field analysis for failed tool investigation and coordinate with Service Quality Group to provide applicable incident report
Participate in the ReedHycalog Quality Management System: Coordinate and support in all quality incidents in relation to your assigned area according to the QMS system standards.
Provide feedback of product performance through the QMS incident reporting process for product improvement development.
Safety:
