Job Duties: * The General Production Manager (GPM) is responsible for overseeing the various department(s) of responsibility and for meeting Department/Company goals and standards on quality, yield, productivity, cost, and safety. * Responsible for the development and training of Supervisors and Team members, working within the guidelines of Company Policies, to meet the current and future needs of the Company. * Responsible for quick and timely feedback to Plant/Shift Manager on all exceptions regarding productivity, downtime, quality, yield, cost and safety, and managing the correction of areas which are out of acceptable parameters. * Ensure department compliance within Company policies, law, and regulations which include USDA, SSOP and HACCP programs, and all OSHA required safety programs. * Ensure the safety of our Team members is maintained by overseeing the administration of safety orientations, training, and meetings as required, to assist in attaining zero incidents. * Participate in department meetings in the planning process, along with the testing and development of techniques/processes. * Ensure proper maintenance of Company assets; make recommendations for acquiring necessary items to support business objectives. * Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred, and/or equivalent work experience. * Must have a minimum of five years of experience in the poultry processing industry with progressively increased responsibility. * Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. * Must be able to evaluate supervision fairly and objectively. * Must exhibit strong leadership skills/internal drive to succeed. * Must be able to prioritize and adjust quickly to a changing work environment with minimal supervision, to meet changing production needs. * Must have advanced problem-solving skills and be able to make independent decisions. * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check.
