Our Louisville office is growing and seeking an experienced Aviation Project Civil Engineer. The ideal candidate will reside within approximately five hours from Louisville, KY to support mentoring and coaching junior engineers and client relationships. We estimate this person would travel 30% of the time to our Louisville office. Primary responsibilities:
Deliver engineering design support for clients and their projects, including roadways, airfield pavements, storm water needs, parking, construction phasing, and utility design.
Assist with studies and technical design reports critical to project feasibility
Provide essential AutoCAD design support for the full project design life cycle
Create 3D models to support the design and engineering of key project elements
Engage in construction representation services
Ensure that design standards and processes align with federal, state, and Foth standards
Coordinate engineering design teams and multidisciplinary subconsultants to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with design objectives
Mentor and coach junior engineers on design standards and practices
Travel up to 30%
Required Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or the ability to become licensed within one (1) year
5+ years of design experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
Experience in construction observation and construction administration gained through professional experience or college internships
Knowledge and application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Municipal transportation, DOT, site development, or airport design experience and working knowledge of state, municipal, or federal design standards
Project management experience
Airport design experience and knowledge of FAA design standards

This role is for a Civil Engineer focusing on Mission Critical Data Center projects within our Community Development Group. Within this team, you will have the opportunity to work on Data Center projects of various sizes across the country. The Mission Critical space requires a very proactive, responsive, and efficient design team with projects serving Fortune 10 companies who are making headlines with transformational projects.
The engineers on this team are a core design group dedicated to serving Data Center clients and similar major commercial programs. The projects they work on require a variety and diverse set of skills to assist our clients with site due diligence, design, entitlement approvals, permitting, and construction. Within this team you will be exposed to different design requirements across multiple geographic regions as well as different Mission Critical and commercial projects of various sizes and operational needs. The projects that you may be assigned to will be broad, varied, and diverse in scope.
This position involves working collaboratively within the Mission Critical core design team, project partners, and various different services in the development of private civil site designs; construction plans and specifications; preparing reports, studies, and construction contract documents; computing quantities and preparing opinions of cost; performing field observations and assisting in the coordination and management of construction activities.

Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provides markups for junior engineers/designers.
Prepares and revises documentation in various civil phases including site plans, grading plans, utility plans, diagrams, and details.
Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
Assists senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
May lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.

Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of structural engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Provide oversight to project engineers and BIM team members to execute work while keeping an eye out for innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
Support KPFF's goal for creating a perpetual organization that focuses on happy people, happy clients, good financial outcomes, and great engineering.
Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and expectations meanwhile ensuring timely and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Occasionally conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and structural assessments to determine project viability and scope.
Collaborate in the preparation and review of engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports in accordance with applicable building Codes.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a culture of safety within the project team.

Our Louisville office is growing and seeking an experienced Aviation Project Civil Engineer. The ideal candidate will reside within approximately five hours from Louisville, KY to support mentoring and coaching junior engineers and client relationships. We estimate this person would travel 30% of the time to our Louisville office. Primary responsibilities:
* Deliver engineering design support for clients and their projects, including roadways, airfield pavements, storm water needs, parking, construction phasing, and utility design.
* Assist with studies and technical design reports critical to project feasibility
* Provide essential AutoCAD design support for the full project design life cycle
* Create 3D models to support the design and engineering of key project elements
* Engage in construction representation services
* Ensure that design standards and processes align with federal, state, and Foth standards
* Coordinate engineering design teams and multidisciplinary subconsultants to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment with design objectives
* Mentor and coach junior engineers on design standards and practices
* Travel up to 30%
Required Qualifications:
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or the ability to become licensed within one (1) year
* 5+ years of design experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
* Experience in construction observation and construction administration gained through professional experience or college internships
* Knowledge and application of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction including runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Municipal transportation, DOT, site development, or airport design experience and working knowledge of state, municipal, or federal design standards
* Project management experience
* Airport design experience and knowledge of FAA design standards
