Join Foth as a Geospatial Survey Technician, based in Des Moines. Operate traditional land surveying tools (GPS/Total Stations) to complete topographic mapping surveys
Utilize a digital level to set high-accuracy elevations on project control and benchmarks
Calculate horizontal and vertical positions from engineering plans for contractors to use during construction
Model 3D remote sensing data
Conduct property research for land surveying activities
Draft existing site conditions using multiple software programs
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree in Civil Technology or a related field
Minimum of 1-5 years of survey or related experience
At least 1 year of previous field experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Trimble Business Center
Experience using Trimble survey and scanning equipment

Join Our Team as a Water/Wastewater Engineer! Are you ready to make a significant impact on the future of municipal and utility systems? Foth is on the lookout for a self-driven and team focused Water/Wastewater Engineer to support innovative projects that enhance community infrastructure. The position can be based out of our Iowa office locations in Des Moines or Cedar Rapids.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform technical engineering discipline lead for water transmission, distribution, sanitary sewer collection, wastewater conveyance, and/or water system project designs and system analysis
Provide technical consultation to municipal clients on their sanitary sewer system management, watershed planning, capital improvement plans, green infrastructure, pumping stations, and best management practices
Develop water and wastewater system reports and community-wide master plans.
Participate in capital improvement plans for growing Midwest communities.
Lead a hydraulic analysis team for pressure pipe modeling, transient analysis, pump station analysis, and gravity sewer modeling.
Prepare design plans, specifications, and bid documents for water and wastewater systems.
Provide construction support services, including shop drawings, pay estimates, progress meetings, and construction services.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
3+ years of experience in utility system analysis, sanitary sewer collection, drinking water systems, and /or wastewater conveyance municipal infrastructure improvements. Technical report writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in municipal engineering, wastewater, sanitary sewer, and/or municipal projects as a technical producer, project manager, and/or client contact.
Experience with sanitary and drinking water master planning and modeling software (e.g., SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, XPSWMM, ArcGIS).
Experience with software such as ESRI ArcGIS, Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads, and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.

Your Opportunity
Stantec's Environmental Services practice seeks a Project Manager (Renewable Energy) to provide project management, environmental regulatory, and permitting services with a focus on Shadow Flicker & Environmental Compliance of renewable energy projects. You will lead efforts to assess, manage, and mitigate shadow flicker impacts from wind turbines for our clients' proposed wind energy developments. You will also manage cross-functional efforts to assist our wind, solar and battery energy storage clients in successfully permitting at the local, state, and federal levels. You'll play a key role in renewable energy project permitting, client and agency engagement and client development, ensuring our clients projects meet environmental standards and community expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage shadow flicker assessments across multiple wind energy projects.
- Oversee modeling and analysis using tools such as WindPRO, ArcGIS, or similar software applications.
- Coordinate with our clients' engineering, siting, and permitting teams to optimize turbine layouts.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies in collaboration with clients.
- Prepare and review technical documentation for shadow flicker impacts, renewable energy permitting, and public consultation.
- Present at public meetings and appear as expert witness for shadow flicker projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for shadow flicker-related inquiries from existing and potential clients.
- Collaborate with internal team or sector leaders, such as the renewable energy group, to expand opportunities and client base.
- Identify and pursue environmental permitting projects, programs and opportunities with a focus on the Midwest Region
- Support client relationship, business development and marketing activities
- Monitor evolving regulations and industry best practices related to shadow flicker and other renewable energy project impacts.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Proven project management experience, including cross-functional coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in shadow flicker modeling and GIS software applications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and technical writing skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Renewable Energy, Engineering, or related field (master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in wind energy, renewable energy environmental permitting, or impact assessment.
- Experience with USACE, FERC, USFWS and DOTs on NEPA requirements and processes.
- Experience with state and local-level permitting and public consultation processes.
