1973
From a home in rural Cedar Rapids in 1973, Four Oaks has grown to become one of Iowa s strongest organizations devoted to helping children and families succeed through an extensive network of programs.
1984
The agency changed its name to Four Oaks in 1984 and used the oak tree to represent the family, the community and the agency standing together with the child to build a future strong as the mighty oak.
1988
Opening in 1988, fifteen children from the Bertram facility were moved to the new Smith Center, and within two weeks, the facility was at capacity serving 40 children.
2005
In 2005, a new vision was developed that has become the driving force of the agency.
