About the role The Banquet Server offers pre-determined menu selections to guests and delivers items to the guest in a timely manner. The Banquet Server also assists with set-up, breakdown, and clearing of items according to the banquet event order. What you will do * Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table; maintain knowledge s of each item's, origin, taste, and preparation methods; * Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests; check completed orders with guest's original order. * Coordinate food timings. Transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. * Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. * Assist in set-up of linen, china, glass, silver, and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order. Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations. What you bring * At least 2 years of high-volume banquet serving experience, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort. * Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills. * Strong time management skills: ability to multi-task, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions. Willing to work in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to operate all computer equipment necessary to perform the job; knowledge of Opera and Micros POS preferred/is a plus. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work closely with other departments and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and guests. * Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 lbs. Overview of Position The Pool & Beach Bartender is responsible for, but not limited to, serving and assisting guests in a courteous and efficient manner in the bar environment, consistently mixing and serving beverages according to the set standards of the Beverage department. The Bartender is responsible for maintaining all par levels of equipment and assisting the Server Assistant with the clearing of all used glassware to ensure a clean and tidy environment. Additionally, the Bartender will be able to anticipate guests' needs, answer any guest questions, and fulfill requests made by guests in regards to the wine list, cocktails, and menu that is served. The Bartender reports directly to the Pool & Beach Managers. Requirements • Have a minimum of 2 years experience in the similar position, preferably in a luxury setting. • Bartending certification is required, with TIPs and ServSafe certification preferred. • Have excellent communication and organization skills. • Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation. • Able to work together with other colleagues. • Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner. • Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming. • Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner. • Able to handle multiple tasks at one time. • Able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest. • Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner. About the role The Part-Time Houseman will provide essential operational support for brunch service, banquet events, and internal hotel functions.
