The Director of Quality will ensure that the company strives to exceed standards set by regulatory agencies and customer requirements, demonstrate advanced organization, prioritize appropriately, and assist the Manufacturing Quality Department as needed. This dynamic position will require a self-motivated individual willing to commit their visible presence to both in-office and in-factory settings.
Job Responsibilities:
Develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure goals are achieved, including industry-specific quality standards to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Provides direction, supervision, and mentorship to ensure alignment with quality policy, strategic objectives and organization goals that drive to Zero Defect plans and Strategy.
Collaborates with senior leadership for planning, execution, and management of critical business performance, process improvements, and other strategic initiatives.
Establishes and maintains relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to standards, additionally serving as a liaison between the organization and external parties.
Develops a highly capable quality assurance staff by recruiting, organizing, and developing the team, based on a culture of continuous improvement and challenging assumptions.

Review, analyze and report on quality discrepancies and data related to production.

Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for discrepancies using proven RCCA techniques and driving sustainable preventive improvements.
Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
Collaborates to implement corrective actions, dispositions, process optimization and modifications - makes the news, does not just report the news.
Can marshal resources to get things done, orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, use matrix resources effectively and efficiently, and arrange information in a useful manner.
Exhibits a high degree of technical credibility and communicates highly technical information in a simplistic and easily understandable way.
Ensures site compliance with Quality Management Systems and is responsible for the continued certification of ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF 16949 and other relevant standards.
Uses the methodologies developed in supporting the above compliances to drive continuous improvement (e.g., PFMEAs, control plans, statistical process control, Kaizen principles, etc.). This is not a position about creating paperwork; it is about using the fundamentals of quality systems to consistently achieve product and production excellence.
Demonstrates mastery of the functional domain in Quality Sciences, strategies, standards & controls. Ability to guide implementation in appropriate applications through design and development into a high-mix/low-volume manufacturing and supply base.
Possess strong communication and presentation skills to facilitate effective communication at all levels of the organization and across multiple cultures as well as to the customer and partner communities.
Needs to be a hands-on leader willing to take responsibility for resolving technical challenges, ensuring successful tactical execution, as well as creating and implementing the strategic vision.
Is a champion of innovative ideas influencing affordability and production on the factory floor.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering field (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical) required, Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
10 years of relevant leadership in contract electronics manufacturing in Engineering, Operations, and/or Quality required, preferably with 5+ years as a Quality Director or equivalent level.
10 years of experience with Best-in-Class Manufacturing Principles, techniques, and Zero-Defect tools and processes required.
Previous managerial experience required; experience managing a Manufacturing Quality Department strongly preferred.
Experience with AS9145 APQP/PPAP implementation and maintenance internally through the product life cycle and with suppliers required.
In-depth understanding of quality standards and systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 etc. required.
ASQ CMQ, CQE certification or similar required.
LSS Green Belt or Black Belt Certification strongly preferred.
Must be capable of influencing a wide range of audiences, demonstrated leadership skills to win support without direct reporting structure.
Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs and be able to stand/sit/walk for 8+ hours per day.

Job Responsibilities:

Supervises the hiring process for openings within the department's organizational chart and is responsible for interviewing, selecting, and processing hiring paperwork for candidates.
Willingness to move around a variety of workstations and perform a multitude of tasks.
Follow policies and instructions that pertain to quality work standards and production quality.
Promote safety and apply 5s principles; clean, dust, sweep, mop, tape, and organize your work area.
Must be able to work well in a team setting and be willing to collaborate with others as needed.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required, preference will go to candidates with a BS in an Engineering field.
2-4 years' experience in a related field required, 5+ years' experience strongly preferred.
Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Basic computer skills required.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
IPC-610 Certification strongly preferred.
Must be able to read tape measure, work instructions, and other documents written in English.
Must follow safety protocols and wear PPE properly.
Must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50lbs; must be able to stand/walk for 8+ hours.

Actively participate in associated new project's PFMEAs and New Product Introduction.

Education Requirements and Ideal Experience Includes:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field)

Practical knowledge and ability to apply test engineering principles, techniques, theories, concepts, industry practices, regulations, and policies
