1901

The Foxworth and Galbraith families founded our company in 1901.

1919

In 1919 Foxworth-Galbraith began operations in Mesa and Tucson, Arizona.

1929

The company’s bleakest period began in October, 1929, when the stock market crashed triggering the beginning of a ten year economic slump.

1931

In November 1931, W.L. Foxworth, H.W. Galbraith, and J.C. Galbraith sent a cautious memo to all members of the organizations summarizing the company’s challenging economic situation and providing a road map for survival.

1936

Recovery from the Depression was slow and steady under the leadership of W.L. Foxworth, who became president of the company in 1936, with the passing of one of the original founders, H.W. Galbraith.

1955

1958

By the time Lucas and his family moved here in 1958, that number had grown to 5,600.

1985

In 1985, Foxworth-Galbraith expanded into Central Texas.

1997

In 1997, Foxworth recruited Lucas, and he spent the next year and a half in manager training before taking his first position at its Silver City store.

1999

In 1999, Brookhart’s was purchased to boost annual sales by nearly $80 million and give the company a presence in Colorado.

2006

DEMING – The year was 2006, the great recession was just beginning, and the construction industry took the first major hit.

In 2006, Foxworth-Galbraith experienced their greatest year with revenue of almost $1 billion and ranking in the top 10 of largest professional dealers in the United States.

2009

Of course, the local building boom didn’t last, and, according to Lucas, by 2009 the construction business was “a train wreck.
