1901

Founded on October, 7 1901 by Colonel Francis Wayland Parker Campus situated on land generously donated by Antia McCormick Blaine First Principal: Flora J. Cooke Original Enrollment: 144 students Original Faculty Size: 13

1912

The doors of Francis Parker School first opened, in Mission Hills, on December 31, 1912.

In the fall of 1912, Francis Parker School began its first year of operation at a small cottage on the corner of Randolph Street and Fort Stockton Drive–with two students.

1913

1938

She served as Parker’s Director until her death in 1938.

1939

Parker had its first high school graduating class since having to eliminate the Upper School program in 1939.

1945

In 1945, Parker established an Endowment Fund Committee that granted $20,000 for campus construction, ensured teacher salaries and pensions, as well as scholarship funds.

1973

In December 1973, the bank that carried the School’s line of credit failed, and the bank’s successor called in some of Parker’s outstanding notes that had been used to purchase the Linda Vista property.

1986

The School went on to add new buildings on the Linda Vista Campus to accommodate an ever-growing enrollment, including the opening of the Middle School classroom building in 1986.

1998

The Amelita Galli-Curcci Performing Arts Center was opened in 1998.

2008

During the 2008–09 school year, the Auditorium was completely renovated, with new classrooms, more seating, office space and a balcony.

2012

Parker added an AstroTurf field which started construction in June 2012, and it was finished in September 2012.

2016

In the 2016–17 school year, renovation began for the new Kovler family library.

2019

In the spring of 2019, Francis Parker School opened its doors to one of its most ambitious projects to date.
