1979

Introduced in 1979, the compa ct sink system added to Franke's standing as one of the world's leadi ng sink producers.

1981

Egon Franke retires from active management in 1981.

1982

Michael Helbig is appointed second managing director next to Gerhard Groz in 1982.

1984

In 1984, Franke acquired century-old coffee machine producer Augsberg er.

1988

The rapid success of this subsidiary led the company in 1988 to restructure its operations into several core divisions, including Kitchen Systems, Washroom and Sanitary Facilities, and Coffee Systems.

1989

In 1989, his son and the current owner Michael Pieper joined the company.

1990

Franke introduces the Flüsterlager® in 1990, a consistent upgrade on the Wire Race Bearings.

1990 The first McDonald's restaurant opens in Moscow.

1992

Other acquisitions included Niggemann Food Service Technik in Bochum, Germany, acquired in 2000, boosting the group's contract manufacturi ng operations for the fast-food restaurant market in Germany and Euro pe.

2002

In 2002, Franke took the leadership position in the European stainles s steel sanitary product market through its acquisition of W&G Si ssons Ltd.

The purchase of W&G Sissons, which also gave the compa ny operations in Belgium, followed on the company's decision to form a new dedicated Washroom & Sanitary Equipment division as a subdi vision of its Kitchen Systems division in 2002.

2003

In 2003, the group's restructuring included the sale of its bathroom furniture subsidiary in a management buyout.

2004

Franke returned to the acquisition drive in 2004, buying up 49 percen t of Italy's Faber Group.

2005

In 2005, Frank e bought up full control of Faber.

2009

The new customer and training center is opened as part of the celebrations in 2009; it is designed to hold customer conferences and to provide in-house training and technical workshops.

2013

In 2013 he handed the role of managing the Franke Group to Alexander Zschokke.

2017

April 2018: Franke Industrie AG acquires Ammatec GmbH With this acquisition, Franke Industrie AG expanded its strategically important aerospace business segment.

2021

In 2021, Franke merges Franke Kitchen Systems and Faber Hoods & Cooking Systems to form the new Franke Home Solutions division.
