Collaborates with the patient/family, attending physician and other members of the IDG in providing patient and family care daily. Instructs and supervises the patient/family in self-care techniques when appropriate. Maintains accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the patient's condition. Experience Requirements One year of clinical experience. License Requirements Current RN licensure in the state of practice and one year of clinical experience. Current CPR Certification. Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation. Additional State Specific Requirements LA: a minimum two years full time experience working as an RN. However, two years of full time clinical experience in hospice care as a licensed practical nurse may be substituted for the required two years of experience as a registered nurse.

This full-time employee is responsible for collection of specimens for lab testing on inpatients, outpatients, emergency room and clinic patients. The Phlebotomist is responsible for application of learned techniques necessary to obtain quality specimens to aid the techs in reliable results. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for developing computer skills for the Laboratory Information System and complying with all regulatory requirements, including Lab Compliance. This position requires adept social skills and compassion. As secretarial relief, this employee is responsible for distribution of lab reports, filing, ordering supplies, handling drug screen accounts and paperwork, and registering Home Health patients. Additional projects may be delegated as the need arises. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma, Current certification for DOT Drug Screen Collections may be required, Current certification for EBT may be required. Phlebotomy and Medical Office experience or training required.
