IMC is currently hiring a Physician Practice Specialist in our Surgery Clinic, who under the general supervision of the practice supervisor, the Physician Practice Specialist is required to have knowledge to perform all roles in the clerical office which includes but not limited to: answer phones and take detailed messages, greet and/or assist patients, knowledge of practice management system (Care tracker), checking in/out of patients, input demographics, verify insurance, collection of co-pays/coinsurances, knowledge and input of billing, closeout/balance charges and payments at the end of clinic. Scheduling patients with referring physician offices, precertification and scheduling of hospital procedures, assist in other clinics as directed by supervisor and assist in training of new employees. EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of one-year commutative working experience in some type of billing and coding position if possible. Must have had exposure in previous jobs with working and communicating with the public as a customer. Medical practice background preferred. At least 3-5 years previous experience in the filing and collection of Medicaid rules and regulations. JOB KNOWLEDGE Medicaid rules and regulations as it pertains to office visits Insurance rules and regulations as it pertains to office visits PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general supervision of the practice supervisor, the Office Specialist answers phones and takes detailed messages, prepares charts for clinic, greets and assists patients, assist with registration inputting demographics, verifying of insurance, collecting and entering of charges and payments, balances charges and payments at the end of clinic. Communicates with referring offices in gaining necessary information. Assists in training new employees. As an adjunct Manufacturing Technology instructor, the successful candidate will teach courses in Precision Machining, focusing heavily on hand tools and manual machining. Teaching in both the classroom and laboratory settings, the successful candidate will use a combination of hands-on demonstrations along with classroom/online lectures to teach students machine tool theory and safety as well as a variety of technical assignments and laboratory instruction that will prepare the students to enter today's manufacturing workforce. Experience working with adult learners is a plus.
