This position will assist the production team in the manufacturing of lawn fertilizer and ice melt products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Labeling, sticker application and packaging preparation
Handling packaging materials and finished product
Drive forklift to move product around the production area and warehouses
Maximizing warehouse space regarding finished product, packaging and raw materials
Load outbound trucks accurately, safely and efficiently, signing load sheet when complete
Unload inbound trucks and railcars accurately and efficiently, meeting all unload deadlines and delivering all BOL paperwork to the production foreman
Operation of manual production lines
Operation of loader to fill ingredient hoppers or transfer from hoop shed storage
Identify and report any product quality or equipment issues to supervisor
General housekeeping of equipment, production areas and warehouses as directed
Perform equipment maintenance as directed
Follow all safety policies and procedures and make safety a priority in completing work tasks. Paying particular attention to forklift operations, seatbelt use and LOTO - lock out tag out procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by production foreman and other managerial staff
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Be an insurable driver
Must be able to operate forklifts, loaders and conveyors
Must be available to work extended hours seasonally or as needed
Be self-motivated in completing work tasks and have the willingness to assist teammates in their work to gain efficiencies and meet production deadlines
