You will learn how to provide technical assistance and engineering consultation during field inspections and provide technical input in resolving problems with water plant operations during emergencies.
Additional skills which will be acquired involve providing training to field sanitarians on technical subjects such as corrosion control, cross-connections, taste and odor control, water chemistry, facility design, and permitting; learning how to serve as a witness during enforcement actions within the SDW Program; and assisting communities and water industry representatives in securing loans or grants for water system improvements through various state and federal aid programs.

Minimum Qualifications
PhD, ABD, or MFA in English required. Successful evidence of engaging students in active learning both within and beyond the classroom, as well as fluency in writing across the curriculum pedagogy. Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in first-year writing. Participation in assessment of individual basic writing and reading courses for periodic, standardized department review and university-wide Middle States (or comparable national standard) also preferred. Interdisciplinary interests or expertise beyond English are a plus in order to help students transfer learning and understanding across domains.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role is tailored to equip individuals for a fulfilling career within the surveying sector. Responsibilities include assisting in the execution of field surveys for various transportation initiatives, such as roadways, bridges, and right-of-way delineations. Trainees will learn to effectively operate essential equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors, while supporting data gathering, computation, and documentation tasks under the guidance of experienced staff. Additionally, participants will engage in office-based survey analysis and map preparation, travel to diverse project sites within their designated region, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and PennDOT regulations during all surveying activities.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
