This position involves performing routine groundskeeping tasks, ensuring the upkeep and repair of campus landscapes, and contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for our community.
Typical Schedule: This is a non-exempt position with an expectation to work Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required, as schedules may vary based on job responsibilities, and overtime must be pre-approved by the Director. Availability for evenings and weekends may be necessary to meet departmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Mow grass, water lawns, and maintain flower beds while ensuring quality standards are met.
Clear snow and ice to maintain safe walkways and parking areas.
Assist with basic construction and manual labor tasks related to grounds maintenance.
Repair and maintain campus walkways and parking lots.
Plan, plant, and maintain landscaping in alignment with established plans.
Remove refuse and monitor landscaped areas for repairs and maintenance needs.
Collaborate with maintenance personnel on district-wide projects.
Monitor landscaped areas, sprinkler systems, and grounds to identify repair and/or replacement needs and providing an attractive environment.
Assist with and participate in all campus event set-ups, including major functions like Commencement, Open House, School Opening, and Summer Conferences.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding grounds maintenance.
Supervise student or temporary employees as needed and participate in training sessions.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license.
Experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping preferred.
Ability to operate landscaping equipment and tools safely.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy items.

The Staffing Operations and Records Coordinator performs a wide variety of administrative tasks related to the day-to-day coordination of the recruiting functions to include intake of requests for various types of hires and posting all positions for faculty, professional, administrative and student positions. In addition, this position is responsible for creating and maintaining personnel files in accordance with the University's records retention requirements.
The incumbent will manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including processing position requisitions, job postings, and coordinating interview and selection activities. They will maintain personnel records, process hiring requests with accuracy, and assist with offer letters, adjunct agreements, and onboarding of new hires and student workers. This role involves collaboration with the HR Recruitment and Onboarding Specialist to ensure a seamless applicant experience. Additional responsibilities include coordinating travel arrangements for candidates, supporting union reporting requirements, representing the University at recruitment events, and contributing to policy improvements and departmental goals aligned with the University's strategic vision. The position also serves as backup support for New Hire Orientation and completes employment verifications.
This is an essential position and must report to the University during severe weather and other emergencies, unless directed otherwise.
Position specifications and requirements:
Minimum of two years progressively increasing experience in Human Resources office with at least one year in recruitment. General experience and prior experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
Associate degree or two years of college education in Business or related field is preferred, but not required. Preferred. Must have Knowledge of basic HR functions including compensation, recruitment, benefits, and on-boarding. Federal and State regulations related to recruitment, discrimination, and human resources are also required, along with the ability to articulate and interpret same.
Ability to use typical and customary office equipment such as a telephone, copiers/printers and personal computer/laptop. Software experience should include ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level. Experience with Paychex helpful; but not required.

The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) is looking for a Head Coach to lead our Men's Ice Hockey team. SNHU is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northeast 10 Conference. The Head Coach is responsible for leadership, administration, and coaching of intercollegiate athletic program. This includes all recruiting, practice and game preparation. This position is located onsite at our Manchester, NH campus. You will report to the Associate Director of Athletics.
What you'll do:
Manage schedules for games and scrimmages
Oversee assistant coaches
Promote communication between the program and athletic training, administration, communications, equipment, compliance and finance reporting
Organization and implementation of the assessment, identification and recruitment of qualified student-athletes. Work with Admissions and Financial Aid in recruitment of student-athletes
Maintain a schedule for the entire academic year. This schedule should include individual meetings, individual workouts, pre-season workouts, post-season workouts, in-season and off-season training/conditioning programs, and summer program workouts.
Support academic development and graduation of student-athletes. Be a role model for all student-athletes involved in the program
Establish and maintain relationship with the University, alumni, high school coaches, media, and the local community
Act as a liaison between University and the people of Manchester and neighboring towns, by conducting clinics for the community, active involvement in charitable organizations and the local school community
Maintain memberships and participation in the athletic conferences and sport associations and affiliations

The opportunity
Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Dog (Canine) Kennel Technician for our partner organization Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter in Manchester, NH. Our kennel technicians play a vital role in our team here at The Friends of the Manchester Animal Shelter. They are responsible for caring after, cleaning, training, and working all of the dogs we get in. We are able to hold 17 dogs here in-house (meaning in the shelter). As a kennel technician, you will be trained on the daily needs of the dogs, including how to clean the kennels, walk each individual dog, how to work on behavior modification, how to create enrichment, participate in events, and more.
This is a physical position, where you will be expected to work at a fast pace. You would need to be able to lift & carry items of at least 50lbs, as well as interact with & walk large, muscular dogs. We have a wooded trail on our property, as well as a fenced in area. As a SNHU student, you will not be permitted to take dogs off site.
**We use peanut butter heavily in this position. If you have an allergy to peanuts, this would not be an ideal position for you
Job Responsibilities:
Check in with staff/ canine technicians when you arrive. What is needed first?
Have a walkie talkie on your person & it's turned on & working, before entering inside the kennel.
Read the whiteboard on each dog's kennel BEFORE you start cleaning, to ensure you are not missing any important information.
Help clean inside kennels; involves removing waste, replacing linens, changing toys, scrubbing & disinfecting kennels, rinsing, drying & setting kennel back up for each dog. (18 kennels)
Ensure each dog has fresh bedding, toys, water, and has breakfast ready inside the kennel before letting it back inside.
Once all dogs' insides are clean, let them back inside. Move to outside kennels & repeat cleaning routine.
Prioritizing cleaning the kennels in the morning before walks.
Walking dogs in the kennel that you are trained to interact with & walk.
Check dog laundry is running; ensuring you are shaking out all debris in towels/ blankets, etc.
TRASH any blankets or towels covered in gross debris.
Relay any strange behaviors from dogs/ medical concerns/ issues with canine staff immediately & effectively.
Setting up kennels for dogs on intake.
Take out trash on outside kennels & in play yards.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Ability to walk dogs who are large, strong, sometimes over 80lbs.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to walk strong dogs on a wooded trail.
Make enrichment for dogs of all varieties. We have tons of supplies for enrichment, and we should be changing up what we give them.
Cleaning out kennel drains once a week.
Ensuring the feeding station is clean & kept.
Helping with morning feeding if needed (ask a staff member)
Ensuring the walk ways are safe & stable before you are walking the dogs.
Help to sand the kennels, walk ways, play yards, etc in the winter time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
Work study part of financial aid package
Students with work study may be prioritized
Reliable transportation
You need to be over 18 years old.
You should be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Physically able to walk strong dogs in rain, show & shine.

Being a kennel technician can be an extremely rewarding experience! It can whip you into shape & unveil so many truths behind why animals behave the way they do in a shelter setting. The best feeling in the world is befriending an animal who comes in un-trusting & scared; and watching them blossom into a
completely different animal. Though this work is mentally & physically demanding, it is even more rewarding. You will learn how to handle dogs, about defensive dog handling, about dog behaviors in a shelter setting, how to properly disinfect a kennel, learn to harness & leash up the dogs including tools such as
easy-walk harnesses, gentle-leaders, slip-leads, halter-leads & more. You will learn how to interact with each individual dog, and the “why” behind each tactic & protocol.

Typical Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, but flexible to meet the department's needs, including occasional weekends, holidays and/or nights. Will be on call and be required to respond to the college to perform different tasks at various hours of the day and night.
Responsibilities:
As an essential employee, you are responsible for the following:
Develop, plan, and perform required scheduled maintenance of all vehicles and equipment to include all aspects of motor vehicle maintenance.
Installation of attachments and accessories: Mechanic is responsible installing and removing mowers, sweepers, spreaders, snow plows, sander, snow blowers, tractor cabs, etc., as seasons and circumstances require. Mechanic must be thoroughly familiar with all attachments and capabilities and evaluate condition as to effectiveness and safety. Mechanic must repair refurbish or report to Maintenance and Grounds Manager when replacement is required. Must be prepared to perform a variety of repairs on a variety of equipment at any time or under poor working conditions.
Must develop, coordinate and maintain maintenance records pertaining to repairs, warranties and any other relevant paperwork on all vehicles, equipment, generators, hand/electric, pneumatic tools, etc.
Mechanic must be knowledgeable of chemicals used, as to the reaction with each other, and other materials they may come in contact with. Should also be familiar with chemical ID numbers and how to respond to spills, fires, etc. Mechanic should be tolerant to a vast variety of chemicals, solvents, fumes and vapors that will be contacted and must be aware of symptoms of over-exposure
Mechanic will always be aware of moral and legal responsibilities in regards to the safety of many students and staff that depend on the safety and reliability of the vehicles and equipment serviced. Mechanic must also be aware that vehicles portray an image of the college.
Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:High school education, with training in vehicle mechanics or small engine repair desirable. Four to five years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. SAE certified is desirable. Incumbent must possess a broad base of technical knowledge and skills related to vehicle/engine maintenance and repair, including welding and fabrication. Must be certified to do State inspections and be knowledgeable with diesel engines. Possess and maintain familiarity with trade skills relating to rough carpentry, painting, drywall, insulation, basic plumbing, glass cutting and replacement, and mechanical ability. Able to read, write, and comprehend English, as well as perform basic mathematical computations.
Physical strength/endurance to enable him/her to perform/participate in the following activities:
Physically able to lift various materials up to 50 pounds on a repeated basis. Any lifting over 50 pounds will be performed with assistance.
While performing required job tasks, physically able to repeatedly bend, twist, stand, sit, and kneel.
While performing required job tasks, physically able to repeatedly climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
Must be able to lift, move, relocate, set up and dismantle heavy equipment, furniture, supplies, platforms, chairs, etc.
Must be physically able to perform proper snow and ice removal operations as required, to include plowing snow and ice with a vehicle and plow, operate a snow blower, shovel snow, sand/salt to clean all, but not limited to, walkways, roadways, entryways to buildings and roofs; as required or deemed necessary by the Director of Facilities.
Possess dexterity abilities required to perform related job responsibilities.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
