Job Summary
The Laborer is an entry level position that is responsible for supporting the safety department within the shipyard for the winter work season. This position runs from January to the end of March early April. The right candidate will show a high sense of safety awareness, and preferably has shown safety demonstration in previous positions
.
Responsibilities
Performs various physical duties as assigned
Maintains all safety standards
Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the-job training
Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment
Maintains decontamination trailers
Moving tools, safety equipment, or other material as directed
Preservative coating removal and cleanup
Assist with air monitoring and other environmental tasks
Other safety tasks as assigned by the Safety Lead
May also support manufacturing laborer when required
Required Skills & Abilities
Knowledge in standard practices in comparable manufacturing environments
Follows directions and procedures under limited supervision
Conducts basic problem-solving skills under supervision
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Physical requirements

Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces, such as accessing manholes, and awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures. Use of manufacturing equipment. Work in environment where harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, gases, etc. might be present and the use of a respirator may be required. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions/areas that at times are not environmentally controlled. Able to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.

The Position
The HR Generalist is a critical role at Great Northern Cabinetry, reporting directly to the Finance Manager. Expectations are that this person:

Ensure that employees comply with all Health, Safety, and Regulatory programs
Managerial responsibilities to include time and attendance, completing performance/competency evaluations, competency/training logs, providing feedback, motivation, training, and disciplinary actions for employees in assigned department(s)
Help coordinate mold revisions and repairs to prototype and new molds.
Assist with recommendations for corrective actions to the Engineering, Mold Manufacturing, and Tool Engineering departments for all existing molds, new molds, prototype molds, and related processing issues.
Act as a liaison between Quality Assurance and Manufacturing departments for mold and process-related issues.
Help sample and evaluate all prototype molds, new molds, resins, and equipment.
Assist the Director of Manufacturing to include: evaluating training needs for the Process Engineers and Process Technicians, evaluating process capabilities, evaluating and making recommendations on key process-related equipment, and implementing cost-saving projects.
Develop and maintain FMEA's/PFMEA's on new and existing products.
Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO14001 certification by supporting: Corporate policies, procedures, and required documentation.
Develop and maintain key metrics and documentation for all processes within the department
Other Functions:
Serve as an active member on the Material Committee.
Become an active participant in the Group Standards and Technical meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Success in This Role Includes:
Complete understanding of FEMA's/PFEMA's.
Core understanding of tool requirements (APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA)
Ability to conduct DOE's and record the results.
Ability to read and interpret SPC and DOE data and results.
Able to lead, motivate, and train assigned personnel.
Thorough understanding of Scientific Injection Molding Principles.
Working knowledge of QA lab testing equipment
Good understanding and working knowledge of mold construction and mold set-up
Thorough knowledge of sequences and capabilities of injection molding machines
Thorough knowledge of the operation of all auxiliary equipment
Thorough understanding of the effects of each machine control on the behavior of the process
Ability to troubleshoot and identify causes of processing problems
Scheduling and staffing of shifts
Visual inspection of manufactured parts
Forklift certified at HellermannTyton
What You'll Bring:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Associate degree required with a concentration in plastic technology is preferred
Minimum of 2 years prior supervisory experience
Advanced experience (10 years) in all aspects of injection molding
Working knowledge of thermoplastic processing, resin processing characteristics, mold construction, cavity construction, and gate design
Knowledge and experience with statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
Working knowledge of FEMA's/PFEMA's
Ability to troubleshoot processing errors
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Ability to drive and travel domestically/internationally is required
Strong written and oral communication skills
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs
Ability to work other shifts/weekends as necessary
Ability to inspect production for quality defects
Forklift experience, preferred
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and adequate insurance required

Job Summary As a Welder at Fraser Shipyards, you will play a key role in building and repairing steel vessels, using your welding expertise to help create high-quality crafts. Key Responsibilities
Interpret detailed blueprints and engineering drawings to plan welding operations and ensure precision in every task.
Weld components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead) using MIG or TIG welding processes, focusing primarily on GMAW.
Grind, clamp, and tack-weld parts to meet exact specifications, ensuring top-quality results.
Operate a wide range of safety equipment and tools, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
Use your expertise in welding and fabrication to produce flawless results with every weld.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues quickly, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Perform additional duties as needed to ensure team success and timely project completion.
Required Skills & Abilities

Qualifications

Physical Requirements
Position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, overhead work, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces, such as accessing manholes, and awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures. Use of manufacturing equipment. Work in environment where harmful dusts, fogs, fumes, gases, etc. might be present and the use of a respirator may be required. Ability to work in inclement weather conditions/areas that at times are not environmentally controlled. Able to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.
