In 2002, Bill founded Freddy’s along with his brother, Randy, and friend and restauranteur, Scott Redler.
They responded to this in two ways: expanding to three company restaurants rather than the one they had planned on, and going full-throttle almost immediately on franchising; they were accepting franchisee applications just two years later in 2004.

The company, founded in Wichita, Kansas, in 2002, opened its first franchise in Hutchinson, Kansas, in December 2004. Its 150th location opened in April 2015 in Loveland, Colorado.
