    The Surgical Specialists Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) will cover inpatient surgical service during office clinic hours. Will be responsible for inpatient rounding and documentation daily, new patient consultation from ER and inpatient floor, pre and post op management of surgical patients, posting surgical patients to the OR schedule. Will also perform bedside procedure that include I&D, wound debridement, suturing, removal of staples and drains, and dressing changes. The Surgical Specialty practice is part of Frederick Health Medical Group, a 120+ provider multi-specialty group seeks a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant. The Advanced Practice Provider functions in the role of clinician, consultant, educator, researcher, and serves as a resource to the physicians. Under the supervision of a physician, coordinates clinical services to provide consistent quality of care for patients in the healthcare setting and is responsible for providing evaluation and management of behavioral health services. Conducts physical examinations, provides treatment, and counsels patients and families. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise in working with patients of all ages. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have knowledge of computer skills. Experience with prior electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred. Maintains the necessary CME credits to maintain licensure. Must demonstrate ability to stay organized; is able to multi-task effectively. Must demonstrate time management, conflict resolution, and trouble shooting skills. Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required: Physician Assistant: Certification of completion from an approved Physician Assistant program. Nurse Practitioner: Certification of completion from an approved Masters in Nursing program. Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Maryland. Current DEA license. Current Maryland Controlled Substance license. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or an approved training center. License to practice in any state that has never been suspended or revoked. Has not been excluded from participation from any Payers. At least 2 years experience is preferred. Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required: * High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in business administration, or related field preferred. * College courses in CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred. * Minimum of two (2) years prior physician billing experience with demonstrated working knowledge of professional fee billing transactions and regulations, claims, insurance carriers, rejection and denial codes, error correction and re-posting and contractual adjustments. Physical Demands: Sedentary - Light Work - Lifting up to 15 pounds on an infrequent basis (less than one lift every three minutes). While work is mostly done sitting, a certain amount of walking or standing is often necessary.
