ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Recruit families to apply for the Early Head Start and Head Start program within identified service areas.     Academic Coordinator - SSS TRIO Grant Independence Community College (ICC) seeks a dedicated and student-focused Academic Coordinator to support the Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO Grant Program. The Academic Coordinator plays a key role in assisting eligible students with academic planning, course registration, tutoring coordination, and transfer guidance. This position also provides individualized support to ensure participants persist, graduate, and successfully transfer to four-year institutions. This is a full-time, 12-month, grant-funded position reporting to the Director of TRIO Student Support Services. Continuation is contingent upon federal funding. Work Schedule Academic Year: Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Fridays off) Note: Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for program events. Salary & Benefits Hourly Rate: $17.00 per hour Comprehensive benefits package included Primary Responsibilities * Serve as the first point of contact at the Student Academic Center, providing professional, welcoming, and responsive front desk assistance. * Support day-to-day SSS TRIO operations, including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and database management. * Assist students with developing academic success strategies, including study skills and time management. * Coordinate tutoring, supplemental instruction, and academic workshops. * Support students with transfer planning, including researching transfer institutions, completing applications, and understanding financial aid processes. * Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and document services provided in compliance with federal TRIO regulations. * Assist with program outreach, recruitment, and orientation of new participants. * Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus departments to connect students with resources. * Contribute to required federal reporting, data collection, and evaluation activities. Qualifications * Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree in education preferred, counseling, student development, or related field preferred. * Minimum two years of experience in office administration, student services, or a related field. * Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work effectively with student populations. * Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. * Demonstrated professionalism, dependability, and customer service orientation. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with student information systems preferred. * Experience working with TRIO or other federal grant programs preferred.
