The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description
Direct, manage and control operational and maintenance activities in the Hydrometallurgical and Acid Plants to maximize the safe production of quality cathode and acid; in an environmentally safe manner while controlling costs.
* Actively seek opportunities for plant optimization and improvement in the areas ofsafety, environmental, production, quality, cost and employee development.
* Promote and enforce safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensurecompliance.
* Communicate with the Mine and Processing Departments to ensure the production andmaintenance cycles are optimized.
* Provide oversight of the planning, scheduling and execution of plant maintenanceactivities to minimize downtime and achieve production and availability targets.
* Coordinate with Morenci Trans Load Facility to ensure timely sulphur deliveries.
* Work collaboratively with Corporate Acid Team to ensure acid balance in the southwestU.S.
* Coordinate and manage the harvest plan, leach flow and solution management with the Leaching Department.
* Assist subordinates in proactively seeking, identifying and correcting issues that impactsafe production and maintenance processes.
* Develop, implement and utilize training and development opportunities to improveemployee skill levels. Mentor as necessary.
* Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of plant operational experience, including supervisoryor management experience.
* Extensive knowledge of Hydrometallurgical and Leaching operations.
* Knowledge in mining and mineral processing technology.
* Skills in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projectsand activities.
* Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring and administering budgets.
* Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Advance analytical and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Exposure to pressure oxidation and/or autoclave operations
* Experience managing complex mineral processing plants
* Understanding of sulfur chemistry and leaching
* Chemical engineering or mineral processing educational background preferred
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $126,500-$177,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Description
Under general supervision, the Senior Mine Engineer - Strategic Planning UG leads and contributes to high-impact mining engineering initiatives, with a primary focus on feasibility studies, capital project development, and safety audits. This role is instrumental in shaping the long-term strategic vision of mining operations through advanced technical analysis, effective project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
* Lead and manage mine-related projects from concept through execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets
* Conduct and contribute to technical and economic feasibility studies for new and existing mining operations.
* Participate in and lead mine safety audits, ensuring compliance with internal and external safety standards.
* Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on mine planning, engineering design, and operational improvements.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geology, metallurgy, environmental, and finance to support project development.
* Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across the engineering team.
* Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and five (5) years of related experience in engineering or a related field, OR
* Master's degree in Mining or Geological Engineering and three (3) years of related experience
* Hands-on experience within the last five (5) years in at least two of the following: mine planning, project management, feasibility analysis, geomechanical control, or engineering supervision
* Strong knowledge of mine engineering principles and project management methodologies
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and deliver results
* Skilled in conducting feasibility studies and technical evaluations
* Strong understanding of mine safety standards and audit processes
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills

What You Will Do
* Set-up, deliver and install personal computers, telephones, networking, and peripheral equipment using established and defined procedures and processes.
* Perform preventative maintenance on voice and data communication systems and associated hardware maintaining accurate documentation.

The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and technical skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on technical skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

* Ability to Operate a 11", 20", 24" and 32" Lathe, Milling Machine, Horizontal Milling Machine, Marvel Band Saw, Drill Press.
* Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.
* Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.

+ Troubleshoot and perform the removal, repair and installation of pumps, pipelines, fire water systems, interceptor wells, potable water systems, hydraulic systems and their associated parts.

Interns are assigned to various locations in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Iowa, supporting our business in a variety of disciplines.
**What You Will Do**
Under close supervision, the Geotechnical (Civil) Engineer Intern applies the sciences of soil mechanics, hydrology, hydrogeology, hydraulics, slope stability analysis, and related disciplines to assist with completing technical functions and/or projects related to safe and efficient tailings storage facilities (TSFs), agglomerated heap leach pads (HLPs), and/or water dams.
+ Assist with TSF, HLP and/or water dam related maintenance or planning projects.
+ Monitor geotechnical instruments to collect and analyze associated data.
+ Support field investigation program drilling, Cone Penetrometer Testing (CPT), etc.
+ Generate cross section with pore pressures or other relevant data.
+ Perform field inspections of slopes and operating conditions Create and maintain reports.
+ Support field data collection and verification for water management Support water balance modeling tasks.
+ Perform other duties as required.
**What You Bring To Freeport**
+ Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor's or higher, in Civil Engineering or closely related field; OR
+ Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor's or higher, in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
+ Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.

Description
Under general supervision, provides project management support, construction management support, cost and schedule analysis, reporting, and general project controls support.
* Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems through various methods such as using industry related technical knowledge, designing innovative short cuts, and reviewing engineering alternatives.
* Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts status against an established baseline schedule. Understands the construction methodology and can identify potential issues and impacts and propose corrective actions.
* Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and associated cost growth and/or schedule slippages. Evaluates proposed process improvements, requests for information (RFIs), and differing site conditions for impacts to the project in terms of cost and/or schedule.
* Utilizes knowledge and experience to track the progress of deliverables, and coordinate submittal and reviews with the project manager, project team members and any other stakeholders as directed by his/her supervisor.
* Review contractor equipment logs, time sheets, supplier invoices and contracts to check that equipment and personnel are being utilized as specified.
* Review contractor schedules for accuracy and alignment with the overall master schedule. Reviews project documents, including design sets, to determine project milestones and sequencing and validate that the construction schedules comply with the project documents.
* Assist in processing of project change notices and reporting of changes through Freeport's Change Management System.
* Assist in compilation of all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the project.
* Perform other duties as required.
* Understands and applies engineering, procurement and construction terminology, concepts and relationships to the scope of work and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
* Validate the reported progress percentage based on the rules of credit established within the project with the contractors through spot checks of the design documents and/or construction progress.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* High School diploma or GED and five (5) years' experience in engineering, construction, project controls or business related field OR
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, business or related field and two (2) years' experience in Project Controls or similar
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
* Strong communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment
Preferred:
* Experience with ERP systems, SAP, P6 and EcoSys
* Project development experience

* Develop mining plans based on all available geological information to support short and/or long-range planning and production goals.
* Participate in Engineering feasibility studies to define proper mining methods, equipment selection, mine site facilities, and manpower and production requirements.
