**About this role:** As a Biomedical Technician with Fresenius Medical Care, you will maintain and repair medical and water treatment equipment within our kidney care clinics. You will also train and educate colleagues on operational maintenance of our dialysis machines to ensure the safety of our dialysis patients, as well as manage the medical supplies required.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
- Maintains the physical plant, as directed.
- Ensures outside vendor services are completed per contract.
- Purchases and retain an inventory of service parts.
- Performs, evaluates, and reports water/dialysate sample collection and any actions required.
- Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system to assure system functions as designed.
- Documents all repairs and maintenance activity.
- Assists in planning and installing biomedical equipment to assure safe and effective operation of facility.
- Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
- Participates in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.
- Collaborates with facility staff to ensure all regulatory and OSHA requirements are met.
- Manages inventory, including receiving and putting up deliveries, inventory counts, transporting goods between clinics as needed and assist clinical management with inventory costs.
- Performs initial and annual verification and ongoing monitoring of patient care staff's technique for testing water system, assuring tests and documentation comply with manufacturer's specifications for the devices and test equipment used.
- Completes all technical training programs required by state/federal regulations and company policy.
- Provides scheduled after hour technical on-call coverage for your clinics as needed.
**EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:**
+ High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
+ Associate Degree in electronics / biomedical technology, or equivalent (preferred but not required)
+ Valid Driver's License issued in the employee's state of residence required.
+ Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within the first 24 months of service from date of hire.
**EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:**

+ Less than 1-year related experience.

Assists in other data related needs which may include entering episodes of care, responding to requests for data from the Network or DCI request.
Maintains accurate treatment statistics, including treatment dates, hospital dates, no-show information, and information on absences. Provides reports to the nurse manager or area operations director.
May perform duties of receptionist including sorting and distributing mail, answering and routing phones calls, greeting and directing visitors, and other clerical duties.
Communicates with referring hospitals about information required for pre-admission analysis by interdisciplinary team.
Collects missing pre-admission information from hospital discharge planners and reviews it with clinic social worker and nurse manager.
Obtains prospective new patients' insurance coverage information; faxes or scans and emails insurance information to corporate billers for verification.
Promptly notifies social worker and nurse manager about insurance verification from corporate billers.
Confirms with nurse manager or charge nurse a new patient's schedule and appointment time.
When patients are accepted for admission, informs hospital personnel of the date of the first outpatient dialysis, what time a patient should arrive for consent review prior to the first treatment and the need for patients to have transportation to DCI pre-arranged for the first treatment.
Assists other clerical support staff, as needed.

What You Can Expect:
Prepare and monitor equipment used for intermittent or continuous dialysis and water treatment in the acute setting, including quality control checks
Perform and document pre-, intra- and post-dialysis assessments
Initiate, monitor and terminate dialysis treatments per established policies and procedures
Dispense medication as ordered and document per policy and procedure in hospital medical record
Administer blood and blood products per hospital policy and procedure
Accurately receive, transcribe and implement written and verbal orders from physicians
Access lab reports, interpret and report necessary information to nephrologist
Provide renal education to patients and family members and document appropriately
Serve as primary dialysis contact for nephrologists and hospital staff and liaison to outpatient dialysis center

+ Ensures and verify accuracy of Patient Care Technician documentation.
Daily
+ Reviews and ensures appropriate daily completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheets by all patient care staff.
+ Ensures that all appropriate procedures are followed regarding opening and closing procedures, inclusive of monitoring that all staff and patients have safely left the premises.
Monthly
+ Initiates, documents, and completes ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities including monthly reports.
+ Completes monthly nurses' progress note.
+ Ensures patient medical records are complete with appropriate information, documentation, and identification on each page (Addressograph label is on all chart forms).
+ Reviews transplant status and follows established procedure regarding appropriate action to be taken.
+ Completes patient care plans for new patients within the initial 30 days or any patients deemed unstable requiring monthly patient care plans.
+ Completes any long-term programs that are due. Annually
+ Completes initial and annual Nursing History and Assessment physical.
+ Ensures completion of Annual Standing Order Review with each physician as required.

The Dialysis Hospital Services Nurse (Acute RN) provides specialized dialysis, renal nursing care, and if contractually required, plasmapheresis treatments in our Sumber Regional Medical Center acute hemodialysis unit. The Acute RN collaborates with hospital and outpatient care team members to ensure patients receive the safest care with the highest-quality outcomes.
Schedule: Potential fulltime shifts vary from four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts and are set upon hiring. Some positions are on call 24/7, and rotating call may be required at some locations.

What You Can Expect:
Prepare and monitor equipment used for intermittent or continuous dialysis and water treatment in the acute setting, including quality control checks
Perform and document pre-, intra- and post-dialysis assessments
Initiate, monitor and terminate dialysis treatments per established policies and procedures
Dispense medication as ordered and document per policy and procedure in hospital medical record
Administer blood and blood products per hospital policy and procedure
Accurately receive, transcribe and implement written and verbal orders from physicians
Access lab reports, interpret and report necessary information to nephrologist
Provide renal education to patients and family members and document appropriately
Serve as primary dialysis contact for nephrologists and hospital staff and liaison to outpatient dialysis center
Adhere to DCI and hospital policies and procedures including proper completion of occurrence reports as necessary

* Design, develop, and implement MS SQL Server SSIS ETL jobs to effectively process high-volume data sources and meet nightly processing windows.
* Conduct analysis and design of data models for the development and maintenance of existing enterprise systems.
* Monitors industry trends and directions and develops and presents substantive technical recommendations to management.
* Work with users to define, implement and automate data warehouse requirements based on Microsoft SQL BI Stack.
* Build data structures, functions and views for source data integration, data management, and consumption by other systems
