Mr. Rodriguez joined our Board in June 2020. Since 2019, Mr. Rodriguez has been the Chief Executive Officer of DaVita Inc., a Fortune 500 company providing healthcare services to kidney disease patients throughout the United States and internationally. DaVita strives to improve patients’ quality of life through clinical innovation and integrated, personalized care. From 2014 to 2019, he was the CEO of DaVita Kidney Care, the company’s business unit that treats patients with kidney failure and end-stage renal disease. Mr. Rodriguez has spent more than 20 years in various executive roles at DaVita, driving the company’s transformation for how kidney care is delivered. In 2019, Mr. Rodriguez was ranked No. 40 on the Modern Healthcare list of 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and in 2015 was named one of the Top 10 Leaders by Hispanic Executive magazine. He currently serves as a member of the boards of directors of DaVita and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.

An Evansville native, Shawn has served Deaconess for nearly 30 years, beginning his tenure as an industrial engineering summer intern. He held many different and varied management roles throughout his career, moving to the chief operating officer position in 2005. The Board unanimously selected him to succeed Linda White as the CEO of Deaconess Health System based on his intimate knowledge of the organization, his business acumen, ability to forge relationships with physicians, and his involvement in the community and non-profit organizations.

Mark Caputo is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Renal Care. Mark has spent the majority of his career building dialysis organizations focused on partnerships. Before joining U.S. Renal Care, Mark founded Liberty Dialysis in 2002 and served as its Chief Executive Officer, growing the business from a single clinic to the third-largest dialysis provider in the world, with 260 dialysis clinics serving 20,000 patients. In 2012, Liberty Dialysis merged with Fresenius Medical Care. Following the merger, Mark served as Managing Partner of Joint Ventures for Fresenius Medical Care, and then Chairman of the Board of Sound Physicians until June 2018. During his tenure as Chairman, Sound Physicians employed more than 3,500 hospital medicine physicians in 200 hospitals around the country. Mark received his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and B.A. in Economics from Princeton University.
