Order and maintain project related material as required. Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed and repairs made. Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Managers, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish the desired result. Adjust schedule and work hours to accomplish the desired result, must be able to work weekends and holidays as required. Perform work assignments efficiently while being consistent with good safety practices. Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor. Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates. The purpose of this position is to complete the processing, transferring, packing, loading, shipping and receiving of all outbound and inbound materials while maintaining sanitation throughout the location to ensure safety, food safety and sustain an infestation-free facility. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company. PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Works shift as assigned and overtime as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition. Ensures that all food safety rules, plant safety rules and GMP's are being followed. Completion of general sanitation tasks including but not limited to; blowing-down, vacuuming, mopping, washing, etc. Preventative maintenance and repairs, such as, changeover of packer, inspecting the yard-tractors/fork-lifts, etc. Transferring, packing, loading, and unloading of all flour and feed products by utilizing the necessary equipment including the operation of a forklift. Loads bulk and bag flour trucks and rail cars. Tasked with appropriately completing documentation as necessary Responsible for operating forklifts daily. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory duties. QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job. A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience in flour milling, food processing or other related manufacturing field is preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification. Previous truck driving experience and a CDL is preferred. Ability to pass a Respirator Fit Test and perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job while wearing a respirator. Ability to maintain open communication with both internal and external customers. Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft office software, Internet and Intranet and other computer software to complete essential duties and responsibilities. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events. The Fresh Mark facility in Canton, Ohio, is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanics. Key Accountabilities Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, monitoring compliance. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
