Summary:
Codes and abstracts hospital medical records (including Inpatients, Observation, Outpatient Surgery, Invasive Outpatients, and Emergency Department) for diagnostic and procedural coding.

Records coded include Inpatient, Observation, Outpatient Surgery, Invasive Outpatients, and Emergency Department. Sequences principal (or first-listed) diagnosis and principal procedures according to documentation found in the medical records and UHDDS definitions.
Utilizes ongoing knowledge and reference material regarding DRGs to validate DRG assignments.
Accurately utilizes written federal and state regulations and written guidelines regarding definitions and prioritizing of abstract data elements to assure uniformity of database.
Records abstracted include Inpatient, Observation, Outpatient Surgery, Invasive Outpatients, and Emergency Department. Verifies and/or abstracts required data into computer system according to procedure. Job Summary:
At the direction of a radiologist or other providers, prepares patients and performs radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology and operates imaging equipment. Performs diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols while utilizing appropriate radiation protection measures. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

An additional 1-2 years of college/university coursework and/or an undergraduate degree in a healthcare related field is preferred but not required.

Highlights
* Froedtert Holy Family ED is a 10-bed trauma center
* Nurse to patient ratio is typically 3:1
* Approximately 35 patients are seen per day
Plans, organizes, coordinates and provides direct nursing care for an identified group of patients according to specific standards.
Critical Care -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. Prefer experience in ER, and/or CCU nursing. ACLS required within first year of hire.
Emergency Services -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. Would consider new graduates with Paramedic experience only. ACLS required within first year of hire. PALS and TNCC preferred.
Women's and Children's Center -- None required. Prefer one year experience in Med/Surg, Pediatric and/or OB nursing. NRP certification required within first year of hire.
Specialty Float -- At least one year experience in Med/Surg required. ER &/or CCU experience preferred. Will float between CCU, ER, and PACU. ACLS required within first year of hire.
