Job Summary: At the direction of a radiologist or other providers, prepares patients and performs radiographic procedures in diagnostic radiology and operates imaging equipment. Performs diagnostic studies according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols while utilizing appropriate radiation protection measures. Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: One year of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred. Clinical student experience may be considered in lieu of one year of current clinical experience. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Post high school completion of an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology program is required. An additional 1-2 years of college/university coursework and/or an undergraduate degree in a healthcare related field is preferred but not required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Self-motivated; ability to organize and prioritize well; ability to remain flexible and to reorganize priorities when emergencies arise. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology and current State of WI license as a Radiographer is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Initiates basic life support action when necessary. Assists licensed practitioners with Fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures. Computed Tomography specific duties Operates Computed Tomographic equipment and accessories. Selects appropriate program for the desired protocol. Understands methods of and can perform venipuncture. Evaluates images for technical quality, manipulates display parameters, assuring proper identification. Maintains archival storage of digitized data as appropriate. Maintains knowledge of and observes Universal precautions. Provides patient education. Completed Computed tomography skills check by CT advanced user. Additionally The employee supports the hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position (reference program education curriculum). Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education Required: Associate or bachelor's degree from Radiologic Technology accredited program.
