* Client Engagement and Business Development: Build relationships with clients in the public and private sectors, assist with proposal development, and identify new opportunities to advance Arup's resilience practice.
What's Unique About This Role
* Applied innovation: Bridge the gap between research and practice by bringing cutting-edge methods in risk and resilience into real-world design and planning projects.
* Cross-disciplinary collaboration: Work alongside climate experts, data analysts, planners, and civil, structural, mechanical, and other engineers to develop integrated, forward-looking resilience solutions.
* Impactful projects: Contribute to landmark resilience programs-ranging from performance-based seismic risk studies for critical infrastructure to climate-informed adaptation strategies for major transportation and energy systems.
* Global network: Access Arup's global expertise in risk and resilience, including partnerships with leading research institutions and global best practices.
* Innovation culture: Contribute to the development of next-generation tools and methods that advance resilience design and risk quantification.
Is this role right for you?
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required, Master's degree (or equivalent experience) /PhD degree preferred.
* At least 8 years of experience with 4 years focused on natural hazard risk analysis, applied resilience engineering or related fields.
o Experience with seismic risk analysis preferred
o Non-linear and/or finite element modeling experience preferred
o Code knowledge
* Professional certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) License in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (SE), or willing to pursue licensure preferred
* Software experience: LSDYNA experience preferred, coding experience in Python or similar programming language expected
