Responsibilities
Process documents for state registration, follow the proper paperwork and ensure that tax and title documents are also completed
Process all payoffs, registrations for new and pre-owned vehicles, all license plate issuing and transfers and obtain all dealer titles
Send bills, contracts, warranties and service contracts to the appropriate agency, such as the department of motor vehicles
Check for completeness and signatures on all required parts of forms. Additionally, vehicle title clerks may check for accuracy of vehicle sale and purchase prices
Maintain a file of sales, prices, payments, warranties, service contracts and other pertinent information related to the sale or transfer of a vehicle
Maintain titles and MSO's for inventory
Prepare title work for sold vehicles and submit to DMV
Enter used vehicle purchases into inventory

Essential functions:
* Process all incoming and outgoing mail; prepare forms and maintain records and files related to Inmate correspondence.
* Sort, open, inspect and scan Inmate mail. Maintain related records. Deliver Inmate mail.
* Act as authorized courier for receipt of registered, special delivery, or other mail received for employees and/or Inmates.

* Maintain contact with US Postal Service and private mail carriers (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, etc.)
* Operate postal equipment and ascertain postage needed.

* Requires regular pushing and pulling of mail carts, carrying mail bins, and lifting and moving packages.
* Requires long periods of walking or standing.

Education and experience requirements:

* Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to Inmate contact. Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by TDCJ.
